The Boss
Production I.G will adapt into animation Natsuhiko Kyogoku's best-selling novel Loups-Garous, originally published in Japan in 2001. World-hit TV series Blood+ helmer Junichi Fujisaku will direct, and the all-girls rock band SCANDAL will contribute the music and be effective part of the story concept.

In a near future, the world's population has decreased dramatically due to a deadly virus that terrorized the whole planet. Now people eat only synthetic food and tend to avoid as much as possible any form of physical connection or "real contact" with living creatures. Real shops have disappeared from the streets, and with the exception of the community centres (what were once called schools), people communicate with each others exclusively online. But even in this tightly controlled and systematized society, there is a group of young girls who actively pursued real contact. And when a string of brutal murders emerges, their challenge to this closed world is just about to begin.

Loups-Garous will be released theatrically in Japan in 2010

Viral outbreaks cause murderous hikikomori lifestyles, it would seem. This sounds somewhat far-fetched, but I.G. are no strangers to bringing lavish flair to futuristic oddities.

Sounds pretty believable to me...

Nice to see I.G keeping busy, make this one at least an hour long though, eh fellas?

What world was that then?
Out in many places in the world, so I'm pretty sure they can make some allowances with the words. At least it's not the Blood movie.

I.G. has made many great animes, so I expect this one to be an enjoyable one.

I suppose one could consider the US and Japan as "many places" unless of course you are including fansubs as well, then I guess one could say that. I meant legally, and I presume so was the report. It certainly hasn't made it to our world yet.

Blood + is aired at Animax which means it must have been subbed / dubbed in many countries.

It has portuguese, spanish and english dubs.
I'm pretty sure the english version is shown in the other asian animax countries.

Actually, I've just seen ep one in Spanish on you tube

Here's the trailer. I'm looking forward to this, actually. But a lot of anime from Production I.G is instantly awesome to me.

PS: Except that horrible 3D effect girls. Unique visuals though

As Loups-Garous is French for werewolf I wonder what is doing the killing or is the out come of the infection.

The trailer looked nice but I just wonder how prevalent the girls with guitars will be.
