King of Thorn Blu-Ray!

Manga UK release of Anime film: King of Thorn will be getting a Blu-Ray version as well as the standard DVD edition. However they gave no response to whether Phantom Requiem: for the Phantom, Tiger & Bunny or Strike Witches will be getting Blu-Ray editions.

Tiger and Bunny - I should be able to tell you soon. That'll be a production by Kaze as opposed to Manga if it is done on BD anyway :).

More on that soon I am sure!

Could I beg for independently switchable subtitles (i.e. you can watch with or without subs in *either* language)? Layton on DVD had some wacky issues with this. And time codes? :D

If there are region-free BDs in future for T&B (I can't play local) I am so there. Otherwise I'm there for the DVDs. Same for Princess Jellyfish of course.

Very pleased with news on King of Thorn release - I wanted to see it in cinemas during the Bexley Anime and Manga Festival earlier this year but it was sadly cancelled.

I've been hesistant about buying a Blu-Ray player, but if Tiger & Bunny gets a HD release here, I might just buy one.

All sounds very good indeed! But I absolutely back up Rui's request on the subtitles, and some unwritten request somewhere for no dates to be announced until you're fairly sure.
