I thought I'd make one since I guess at least some people here would be getting it (I would have thought anyways).

Got mine yesterday thanks to early delivery pre-order =3 Got that sweet Lugia figure from Game too.

What do you guys think? So far I'm liking it as much, if not more than, the originals and the pokéwalker's pretty neat too. I took mine clubbing and built up a good few steps haha.

I chose Totodile as my starer, who did everyone else choose?

Considered getting it, I'm not really into Pokémon that much anymore, my nostalgia glasses for Johto have seemingly disappeared too ever since those remakes actually did happen. I wonder if I actually want it or I'm just swept up in the hype, really not sure.

That's fair enough, my love for pokémon died after gold and silver and was only resurrected when Diamond and Pearl came out, and even then I just bought Leaf Green. I have zero interest in the new mons. Kanto and Johto is where it's at for me.

Excluding the originals, the Pokémon game that I've clocked up the most hours on is Emerald. I'm not particuarly sure why. It never done anything drastic or made me think the game was excellent but it definitely was a game I couldn't put down. I was playing it all the freaking time. Without much thought, mind, which is the best way to play these things I suppose.

Used to play red and blue religiously when i was younger and i played through silver a couple of times but never really any of the newer ones. I used to always pick fire as my start because the first temple is normally a grass one.

Not sure if I'll get it. I'm waiting a brand new game. I haven't even played Leaf Green/Fire Red.

There have only been 2 grass gyms and neither were the first gym in their respective games. Sorry for nitpicking but I just can't overlook what you said.

As well as Emerald, I played FireRed a lot. I did play it on fastforward on an emulator but I loved that one. My brother got a tangible copy eventually but I'd already completed it once already by then so er... he just played it.

Hmm. seems i am mistaken, could have sworn that was the case.

I was going to get it yesterday but i got distracted and went to games workshop.

I painted a space marine and had a game. It was alot more fun than anything else.

I'm really enjoying Soul Silver so far and I have been playing it a lot as I have just caught the red Gyarados =) I chose Cyndaquil as my starter since I chose it on Gold/Silver and it's already a Typlosion and I really like how it follows me around.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU I bought the guide today. Turns out it was part 1 of 2, feel like a bit of a chump, but I'm still gonna get the second one anyway, I just wanted a hard copy for reference (and memory)'s sake. They seem to count the Kanto stuff as "post game" I personally feel it's pretty much half the game, so not having it is a bit of a gyp/jip/gip.

Ah well, currently grinding in slowpoke well to get all my team to lvl 17 to fight bugsy. Arduous doesn't even cut it :p but I don't want to try plowing on and then be seriously underlevelled later on.

Also, one thought. If Oak wants you to complete the 'dex, shouldn't he pay for your pokeballs or something? I mean, they aren't cheap. 200 pokedollars per ball. Assuming you ONLY buy pokeballs and each one is an instant catch and you only use one on each type of pokemon, that's still nearly 100,000 pokedollars. That's a ****load of money for an out of work ten year old. And all you get is a certificate (unless it's changed since gen 1) and it's all in vain because they find new ones anyway. Which just happned to be over the next hill.

Sorry, rant on the slave labour of Oak is over now =P

I bought gold on friday, though i haven't had much time to play it. I did take my pokemon out for a walk while i went to work saturday, rack up some stuff with that =)

Bought it, played it, loved it. And just keeping an look out for the next Nintendo event which'll give out a Celebi and you go on a little side quest where you go back through time

Spoilers regarding your rival!

He's giovani's son

Got it last Thursday and been playing it as much as i can (working all week hasn't helped) but kinda shot myself in the foot at the moment.

I just beat the 8th gym leader and so can go to the pokemon league but my team is no where near ready

Typhlosion - Level 53
Ho-Oh - Level 45
Nidoking - Level 37
Gyrados - Level 30

As you can see; i've been relying on my starter pokemon FAR too much. Take away the fact the Ho-Oh and the Gyrados were caught at those levels; i've only actually really worked at levelling up Nidoking. Plus theres the fact i only have a team of 4 strong pokemon :\

Been loving the pokewalker though; i keep it on me while at work. Been racking up some major steppage on it.
