Pokemon Diamond/Pearl

As well as hammering PSO, cursing popular anime series and getting bored of new games quicker than a child with ADHD, I find a lot of time to train up my viciously cute beasts in Diamond.

Now I know there must be fellow Poke-obsessives on this forum, so I'd like to hear from you. And if you guys and gals have Wi-Fi and all the other necessary crap to trade remotely, then maybe we can do that, too. :)

PS: Sorry if there is already a thread about this. I couldn't find one with the Search tool.
 
I'm a big fan of the games and have just been getting back into mine - got my pokemon to roughly level 85 and then stopped but I'll be happy to trade battle etc.! pm me! cant promise I'll get back to you straight away as I've got a cross between a cold and the flu right about now (if that makes any sense!)

Yeah there was hardly any activity in terms of releases until ruby/sapphire/emerald but they are the weakest in the series - the wi-fi on diamond is something the pokemon series really needed!
 
Im taking it these new games are on the nintendo ds? Best try and get my hands on one of those... as i havent played a good pokemon game in years, they are the best way of wasting time on a long journey (if your a passanger ofc, not if ure driving...)

Yeah they're on DS! Yeah these ones are much better than Ruby/Sapphire. I think anyway! I never thought of it that way - pokemon is the ultimate time killer but a great game too! I remember having Silver and I was caught in a traffic jam on the M25 - wow 2 and a half hours never went so quickly for me!
 
I played Diamond obsessively when I got it, Never finished it and my Pokémon are around lvl 40 - 50, I don't think I can get my brothers DS to connect to the Wi-Fi I've got going around me house. Its strange. I'll have to test it out again at some point, I think it might've had something to do with the firewall. So once I do that I'll be happy to battle to Pokémonz with some of y'all.

I haven't connected it to that Pokémon Battle Revolution game yet which apparently adds something, granted small to both games. My god Battle Revolution sucks. My brother also seems to love it, Playing with his Pokémonz on their with randoms over the internets. ;p
 
Yeah...I would have hammered Battle Rev if it came out six months earlier. I got US Diamond, so by the time BR came out, I was pretty much over it. =/

Don't really bother with Diamond over wi-fi anymore...just can't be bothered really...

Yeah I got US Diamond too but for some reason I've started picking it up again - Battle Rev's good online but one player aint great - why dont they just bring out an RPG in 3D? Colloseum and XD weren't too bad but a normal one with the length of the originals without shadow pokemon would be great! Hell remake Red and Blue in 3D and itd be great!

Funnily enough me and my friend were just talking about the prospects of a 3d Pokemon RPG, one will turn up eventually, we did got gale of darkness about a year after colliseum so maybe this year we'll get the first phase of the true 3D adventure...Probably not though :P Seriously Game Freak are probably working on something know, what it could be is a number of things, the first is a remake of Gold and Silver, something which i wouldn't turn down. The second is the third game to go along side Pearl and Diamond like how crystal was with Gold and Silver. The third could be a Pokemon Snap sequel but that's less then likely, and finally the fourth is a 3D pokemon adventure as mentioned before.

Question is though how long can they keep going with pokemon the way it is now? There are only so many colours in the world afterall, but i bet after we see the first proper 3D Pokemon game, Nintendo will tell us they are working on a Pokemon MMO..
 
I got both games with Diamond from the US and Pearl from here and I am saving up to get battle revolution. A remake of Gold and Silver would be awesome since some characters appear in Diamond and Pearl

Yeah I could see them doing a Gold/Silver remake which would be great but I'd favour a 3D RPG (based on the originals or Gold/Silver if need be) or an RPG in the form of 3rd person elder scrolls thing where you can explore further reigons and choose your own path and actually travel miles to get certain pokemon but with limitation (as I dont think people would keep playing) and battles which are still turn based. Any 3D RPG would be a warm welcome as long as the shadow pokemon are gone with a bit more exploration around the map!

As i said before, we will get one of them soon enough, but for now i'll think i'll just enjoy the games as they are...after all not all franchises do well in 3D, look at sonic :P
 
As some people have already mentioned a Pokémon MMO, I've had the conversation about it many a time with a lot of people. I think it would be absolutely fantastic. I mean, DragonBall Z is even getting a MMO. WTF.

Technically the Sinnou games are 3D, But I think a properly 3D RPG would be best on the PSP. I was thinking about it way back when It was working. The Pokémon games have the appeal of pick up and play on the go, So I definitely think it would have to be portable. If Pokémon turned into a Zelda on the Wii it would be nice, Just not the same.

What they have been doing so far has been successful as hell so I don't think changing that formula much will do anything, Just change some features of the games and give it a totally new fresh look would be nice.

Either way whatever happens it'll probably be good! But battle revolution was a bit of a let down as far as 1 player goes - wi-fi is a good addition though
