Podcast: Listener Question Edition!

So basically, you think one of the two Scots should be randomly fired from their own project and Spyro hired, even though Spyro himself hasn't asked for that or expressed any unhappiness, and doing that wouldn't make any sense? If the only thing you can find to complain about with the podcast is the geographical location of the presenters then they're probably doing a lot right!

I'm honestly surprised by the extreme level of political correctness. Surely the best people for the job should be chosen, rather than just selecting people by distribution. We're the 'United' Kingdom. Even if the entire cast was from Scotland (or England, or Wales...) it would be a legitimate UK podcast.

The only reason equal geographical distribution is the issue here is because you have latched onto it as such, Tachi. Should I start demanding there is an even split of men and women? It honestly sounds like sour grapes, and the fact that absolutely nobody else has a problem with it only emphasises that.

If only it wasn't kept a secret...

For the record, as no doubt there will be some that think i am attacking this due to not being a podcaster or whatever else reasoning they can assume, I officially pulled out of the dealings way before the podcast debut. There’s no motive other than equality.

Because you knew no-one would want you when you just sit and play video games in the middle of conversation.

Ofcorse i forgot that you are privy to every detail of my life, that you understand and know exactly whats going on at every moment and never miss a detail.

I have more important commitments and couldn't assure the time even if i was a presenter and as such i spoke to Arby and withdrew from the runnings.

Referring to people as “Scots”? They are people, either use their names or call them Scottish people, You wouldn’t go to Veitnam and start calling people Charlie now would you?

Your ignorance is unbelievable; I stated very obviously that I used Spyro as an example. At no stage have I said that people should be fired and at no stage have I said I would prefer Spyro, he was an example of a person from another geographical part of the UK for arguments sakes, to take something so literal despite obvious signposting that the person was an example isn’t something I’d expect from you of all people.

I couldn’t agree more, it’s taken far too long for this to come to fruition and I’m glad to see it’s so popular BUT the problems I’ve addressed haven’t even been glanced at let alone taken into consideration.

I’ve already explained the flaws In that argumental point. Please try again
The best person from each country in the UK is all that was needed

Its something that had to be addressed, and to use such a word as “latch” deems that you see me equal to that of a symbiotic creature or a limpet, Cheers for that.
As I stated in my closing paragraph, this isn’t from sour grapes as I myself pulled out from the runnings way before the decisions on who where the podcasters was even made, I have my reasons and to this day they still stand so I feel no jealousy towards people who did get the placement.

As for female/male equality, there Is 1 easy way to solve both gender and geographical equality – get a female presenter from wales on the team.

I think you need to look back at this page of posts, Tachi, and consider whether your only real problem is the lack of a Welsh female on the podcast team, or whether you are just trolling (since you're adamant that it is not the result of bigotry and/or sour grapes).

fwiw, I don't think you end up looking particularly sane whichever answer it is.

My real reasons are already displayed in the posts.

If promoting equality is deemed trolling then perhaps we should conform to the general views displayed in this thread and go back to having women and coloured folk as second class citizens and slaves. If your promoting that then it isn't me who will look insane.

If this is how you all want to portray the forum then so be it, but every new member will be warned that the place has become host to racism and enslavement of all but a select few.

You have all but openly admitted you're trolling, Tachi. Is trolling allowed in the forum rules? I forget...

Let's hope it stops before I go check, ok?

I think the word "butthurt" applies here more. I don't understand why this is such an issue for him when no-one else has a problem with it. I guess I'll never understand the way he thinks.

Where? Can you specifically pinpoint information to back up that claim?
You may forget the rules, but i know for certain that i haven't said anything at all along the lines you are infering.

Butthurt? How originally imaginative, did you perhaps see this on the internet and think "I’ll coin that as a decent quip against people and sit with a grin on my face as if i have just said something witty?

Understanding minds isn't what i have attempted to bring to the forums attention, and i'm surprised to see how narrow minded most are. I display to them; through a question (which the topic creator itself asked to the general forum) i am within my rights to answer it as I did and broach upon this subject of discrimination.

As to why it annoyed me enough to warrant a post? This place has fallen further and further down when it comes to equality. No doubt i shall receive a unjust PM regarding this whole thing and that’s fine because it will do nothing but outline that the whole place and its mother would rather discriminate and then turn upon the one who answered a question than to listen to what’s been said and follow the simple example of how to rectify it.

Discrimination against trolling is my favourite kind!

Any more sensible input from anyone for the podcasters? :)

R

As i said, quote where i have "all but openly admitted to trolling". You can't because i'm not trolling, if your that narrowminded and discriminative that you'll try to rally others to gang up on a single member then there is no hope for you.

I've tried to address something wrong and you've just glazed over it and carried on in your ways Rui. Being someone of authority you have an open ground for discrimination, encourage bullying and try to make members feel like outcasts.

You should be stripped of your authority and brought back down to normal ground you self important tyrant.

Post of the year, simply because of how utterly ridiculous it is. Rui is the last person that deserves to be called a "self important tyrant". You should be more appreciative of the great moderating work she does around here rather just sit on your bum and complain Tachi.

Seriously though this thread has really become cringe worthy, Tachi's posts have become steadily more bizarre and painful to read as this thread has gone on. Its also especially hard to take a politically correct " geographical equality" campaign seriously when its from a man who has previously stated how annoyed he gets at political correctness and how it should be acceptable to make racial slurs to everyone providing the one making them is only joking.

I saw what was wrong in myself WRT political correctness and corrected it. Now i've been outlining how politically incorrect the forum is (as they did to me) and its suddenly frowned upon.

Tbh do as you please, i'll just make note that this place has become full of hypocritical fools. But for how much longer? Who knows.

Anything posted after this will only be shown as trying to reignite things, as far as i'm concerned i said my bit and answered the topic question. Case closed.

The only way I can read this sensibly is to assume that Tachi is being ironic. Maybe he's morphed into AironicallyHuman? I'm just very confused.

I suggest we all just drop this issue and welcome any other comments that relate directly to the content of the podcast. We (the presenters) are sort of playing it by ear at the moment and we are always appreciative of constructive criticism, suggestions, questions etc. Compliments too, although I don't want to push my luck...

That sounds sensible. Ahem...

What was the first anime you purchased on VHS/DVD/BD/etc, and what made you buy it?

Has anime been a part of your life for a long time or is something that has caught your attention more recently? What keeps bringing you back to anime?

I'm late to the party but; yeah I would have loved to have been a presenter and everything, but I didn't feel it was my race or gender that stopped me - just the fact that I wasn't bringing much that good to the discussion, haven't seen as much anime as would probably be expected of someone presenting a podcast on anime, kept de-railing by talking about maps and later found out my mic wasn't going down too well.

Sorry, I don't actually have any decent questions to ask the presenters right now, lol.
