Please Help

For all you grown up/mature anime fans out there, I am wondering if you could help me on the following please:

1. A few years ago, a friend of mine showed me an erotic anime film series on VCD, I remember the character designs and artwork was some of the most beautifully drawn and best I have ever seen. The animation however was done in 'picture format' (still picture format) except for the lovemaking scenes, which was done in full and very smooth animation. I remember it was in Japanese with Catonese subtitles (my friend can speak japanese very well). I cannot remember the title of this series, but, someone once said to me that it may be 'Countdown - Akira', but I am so not sure.

Can any mature fans out there shed any light on this beautifully animated anime please.

2. I am a fan of the Poirot series that is currently being shown on ITV3, however, I believe there is an anime series of Poirot, but again I am not so sure. Is there an anime series of Poirot?

3. Finally, does anyone know if an anime film or OAV series of 'The Legend Of The Mother Sarah' was ever made?


Your help in any of these will be most appreciated.

Um sorry dude, but the vcd description reminds me more of a game setup using stills until the action starts and then swtching to animated scenes.

3. "The Legend Of The Mother Sarah" is a manga by Katsuhiro Otomo. If you go to ANN they don't have any links or information to suggest an OAV, it looks like it was only a manga, but I could be wrong.

There is actually a Poirot anime - Agatha Christie's Great Detectives Poirot and Marple. I haven't seen it, so I can't say whether it's any good, but it's currently being fansubbed by a group called Froth-Bite.

As for your first question, a quick look around ANN provides a page for Countdown: Akira Saga, as well as a brief review (scroll down). Beyond that, I don't have a clue I'm afraid.

1) The series is an old OVA 3-parter called Countdown:Akira Saga. You might get it from Pink Pineapple, Bitorrent or Ebay. Alternatively, look up reviews on Google.

2) As Sir Haggis says, "Agatha Christie's Great Detectives Poirot and Marple" is available on Animesuki for download. The characters basically look like the real actor and actress who play the detectives.

3) As far as I know, Mother Sarah remains a manga.
