Right, time for information overload time. i fired stuff onto twitter on it, so i'll do so here as well. First up!

Persona 4 Golden

This is set to go onto the Playstation Vita, not PSP, so i guess it's safe to call this P4G. This is going to be a fairly sizeable update it looks like, including new characters to the game(Marie being voiced by Kana Hanazawa was the one given), new movie events and animated scenes. There will be 1.5 times the amount of voice over work done than in the PS2 title, Wireless support letting you call on others when you are about to die in a dungeon and, other elements not discussed which fans had requested make a return.

This is set for a Spring 2012 released in Japan, here? hopefully Ghostlight or someone can work their magic when it comes to pass.

Next, the surprising one. Atlus and Arc System works 2D are working together to bring us:

Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena

This is a 2D fighter set to be released on Arcade, then 360 and PS3 soon after and it's story is based two years after the events of Persona 4. The game is set to have characters from both Persona 3 and Persona 4 in it, and the game is being built by none other than the BlazBlue team.

Finally, there was a small segment on Persona 5:

Famitsu also has a few preliminary details on the next numbered entry in the Persona series, Persona 5. Basic preparations for the game's development have been completed, with the usual staff members in place. That includes Katsura Hashino as director, Shigenori Soejima as character designer, and Shouji Meguro as main composer.

But Wait! There's more.

Famitsu(who released most of the details so far) have given us a bit more details on what's been going on, on the Persona 5 front.

Basically, the preliminary development for Persona 5 is nearly complete, and you'll have the main trio players working on the game again, as mentioned in the post before(Hashino is director. Shigenori Soejima is character designer, and Shouji Meguro is main composer). Not only that, they've already "solidified the themes they'd like to cover in the game". Apparently, they want to challenge more than they did with Persona 3.

The only other bit they covered, is that they've now finished work on their own Internal engine so they will be using that for Persona 5 instead of the third party one they used for Catherine. It will be a lengthy wait for any release of Persona 5 though.

EDIT: AND MOAR.

Persona 4 Golden, what makes it so? Here's the list given of what's new(some i mentioned before)

3G and Wi-Fi support
New event scenes
Added Personas
Added character outfits
New character Marie, voiced by Kana Hanazawa. She's a "mysterious girl" who appears before the main characters.
When you're about to die in a dungeon, you can send a message seeking help to other players. It's not specified how this system will work exactly.
Additional anime movie scenes, with new voices
1.5 times the voice of the PS2 original
New song for the opening movie
An element that has been highly requested by fans

They did consider putting it to PSP at first, but unlike P3P, they wanted to retain everyone about Persona 4, so hearing about Vita, they decided to go for that for it, since they can not only make it as good as before, but more so.

EDITEDIT: And a bit more!

Persona 4: The Ultimate

They didn't just want the Blazblue team to work on it, they wanted it to be a joint work, so Iguchiya is working very closely with Team Persona. Arcs Toshimichi Mori was apparently shocked about being asked to do this title as well.

We got a list of modes for the game also:

Famitsu said:
Arcade Mode: Face off against CPU opponents while following the story
Story Mode: Delve deeper into the arcade mode's story. This will be exclusive to the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game.
Score Attack Mode: Face off against CPU opponents to get the high score
VS Mode: Face off against a CPU or human opponent
Online Battle: Face off against players throughout the world in online combat (I imagine that can be taken as confirmation of an international release...)

The details suggest that it's actually 2 months after Persona 4, not 2 years that it's set, and every character included will have a story for the game. Basically, the characters are competing in a fighting program called "P-1 Grand Prix"

And i think that's it...FOR NOW. Now i'm off to see about this One Piece Musou

Double post: Sue me later. Just seems more appropriate for this stuff.

Mostly P4G stuff, but Aigis, Yousuke, Chie and P4s MC are available as playables for P4 The Ultimate.

The FG could be so ridiculously sick, fighting alongside your Persona. Screens look veery interesting, gameplay systems seemingly taken from a bunch of places (JoJo's etc).

The fighting game looks so great I can barely contain myself. Of course like all fighting games I won't actually play it much; just owning it will be enough.

And the new P4G character... stripy thigh-highs, tartan skirt, sleeveless blouse and tie, arm warmers? It's almost as if she's designed soley to pander to people like... me.

Feels like i've got reason to revive this now.

This character is called Labrys, is new to the series starting with Persona 4: Arena and is a student council member of Yasogami High(Persona 4s school). She has a lot of similarities to Aigis, so i'd be interested to see the story now. I know for a fact it's getting a proper story put in, so seeing how she actually plays into this and if she is part of the reason for the characters from Persona 3 participation as well.

Calm down Arbalest, it looks like we don't get to play as Labrys,

Time to put on your "beary" sad faces, fighter fans: It seems that Labrys, Persona 4 Arena's axe-toting android girl is not a playable character after all. In the arcade edition of the game (which launched in Japan yesterday), she's a boss character encountered in the latter half of story, prior to the final boss fight against a character I'll name below (spoiler alert), along with some new details about the game's instant-kill finishers.

Then again, this is the arcade edition. A lot can change along the trip from game center and the game console, and in all likelihood the sexy footless metal maiden will make it onto the roster by the time it hits households.

P.S.: It seems that Labrys isn't completely new. She apparently popped up in an audio play (aka "Drama CD") for Persona 3.

I should have expected that actually. There was no sign of a persona for her anyways. But bar that, there is huge ties to Persona 3 for her. I noticed when i did a search for the drama CD details, she's mentioned in passing fairly frequently.

Mind you, they say she won't be a choice in the arcade version, we know there is a chance at least of new playables in the home console edition, so labrys could be one of a few who are made playable. Still a ways away yet anywho, so shall see what happens

It had to happen eventually, but news like this is still nice to hear directly. Labrys, the footless axe-wielding android beauty from Persona 4 Arena, will be joining the ranks of playable characters starting...today! Given the home versions of the game aren't out for a while, this news obviously applies to the arcade versions.

Labrys is also bringing two friends, to be unlocked on April 5th and April 19th. The first new addition is the queen of the Velvet Room and cheaterrific secret Persona 3 boss, Elizabeth. For the sake of balance, she'll just be rocking a single Persona for the tournament: Thanatos. Then again, with a Go Go Dress like he, she'll be a powerful opponent regardless. The next new girl isn't completely new, though. It's "Shadow Labrys", and I suppose we'll find out what she can do in a month.

Good news all around. I wonder who else they'll add in the future. I doubt Persona 3's protagonist is on the docket. Maybe they can add Koromaru, so as to rip off Marvel vs. Capcom 3's addition of Okami's Amaterasu?

In any case, check out a video below, one that shows off all the insta-kill finishers for the current characters. Naturally, these are spoilers, but to be frank I lack the manual dexterity needed to pull off a Hadouken, much less do well enough in a 2D fighter to perform these epic maneuvers. If you're anything like me, this may be the only time you'll ever see these moves. Chie and Teddie's finishers are by far the best ones.

Good news Arbalest - Labrys, Elizabeth and Shadow Labrys have been added to the arcade version.
