If anyone heard of Persona 3, Its a Playstation 2 game, and part of the Shin Megami tensei series. The anime, Persona 3 is set 10 years after the events in the PS2 (whether you need to play the game to understand it is unclear)

A Persona 3 TV anime was just announced on MOON PHASE. The anime will be titled PERSONA -trinity soul-. It's scheduled to air sometime in January from Tokyo MX TV, MBS, CBC, TeleTama, TV Kadokawa, Chiba TV, Animax, BS11.

This will be an original story unfolding 10 years after the story of the original PS2 game. It will talk about around corpses called Reverses whose skin turned inside out (not sure if we're talking about dead bodies or zombies). Anyway, creepy stuff.

I will definitley look out for it. I love the SMT series, and eargely await for PS2 release in the UK (which is 2008)

Also, Persona 3 is about a bunch of school Kids who possess Persona insides them. They summon them by using a gun called the Evoker, which is aimed at their heads and pull the trigger to summon their inner persona.

Whether the anime will retain the school/fighting sim is still unknown.
 
Nice find. I love the Shin Megami Tensei games, and i've been keeping a close eye on Persona 3 (been unable to import it, so i have to wait till the games release over here in january). Funny though, i thought Digital Devil Saga would of been good as anime

Since it's an adaptation of the game, you can be pretty sure that Persona's raisons d'étre will remain.

I want to be excited about this, but recent Game-to-Anime adaptations - Xenosaga, Devil May Cry - have made me somewhat cynical.

I don't see how the Xenosaga anime could be any worse then the free dvd they gave away with the Xenosaga 2 game. after all that was only the first games cutscenes! Stuck together thinking it would be good enough to tell the whole story. Still i know what you mean, but all we can do is hope that its some good.

Well, Persona 3 can be different...

Trinity Soul is set 10 years after, have a new set of Characters and will tie up some loose ends from the Game.

And Persona 3 is suited by the Anime scenes it contains in the game. So, A full on anime series would still suit it.

This is on one of my "To definitely watch" list... If there are people who bother to fansub it, cause i can't seem to find the DDS OVA
 
After looking in the anime encyclopedia, there isn't a mention of a DDS OVA, this could just be because the OVA came out after the book was published but the only title close to it in there is Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei which is markably different to Digital Devil Saga. Though there is another anime which shares the Shin Megami Tensei name, Shin Megami Tensei: Tokyo Mokushiroku (Tokyo Revelation).

Well with that said, how do you find the .hack series?
or is it that the anime & games can out simutanously that make it more appealing?

anyhow 2008 fo P3 release!!
I've been waiting for the Odin Sphere release, which said it was going to come out this September
