Past Anime Release Schedules

WhiteHaven

Hikikomori
Hello folks,

I was searching the internet for past Anime Release Schedules (you know 2000, 2001, 2002 etc) but I couldn't find them for Europe. I mean, yeah a lot of pages for NA (Region 1) DVD's but that doesn't help me.

So. I wanted to ask you where I can find such lists. I really want to start a Anime collection. But it's impossible without a list.

Help would be really appreciated :)

Why do you want to start with stuff released back then? UK Anime DVD releases that old would either be hard to find, or really obvious stuff like Akira/GitS etc, I would have thought.

Well it does not have to be the year 2000. 2006 onwards is fine, too. Or even 2008. I assume there were some releases back than?

Even, we in Germany, had a lot of Anime DVD's since 2007. But yeah, I want to buy them from the Empire :)

Google is your friend. :p
*Always wanted to get to use that line*

That's an issue from where your importing from, not because its further away. I have no idea how the postal system is in Germany though but I assume its vastly better than what we have.

AUKN itself has news archives and if you really want to, you can search through the for the specific items you want. A better thing to do though is just to ask us what titles your after and we'll tell you if they are available. We even have a store that sells American anime DVDs (Up1).

I'm a much better friend in this case.

It's the raw data I used making the UK release list over at AoD - and I also did those 'released today' lists up until February this year (I've given up now, but I'm still doing the release date list)

Well, I would give you a big fat "Too-shay", BUT the spreadsheet is not public. I win. :D

Gah, I did set it as public, but obviously Google isn't my friend. Try now, if not I'll upload the spreadsheet to download elsewhere.

Do not dis' the UK postal service it is very very good. We have carriers, that will deliver anywhere in the country and handle imports.
If you ever order stuff from japan note how bad their internal post is, also note (I can't remeber where on ANN the comment was) it is faster to buy things from Australia and ship them internationaly to the US, than to buy within the US and not pay for the most expensive shipping.
Just because it ocasionally goes on strike doesn't make our postal service bad.

I was wondering where a list of all the truely rare OoP stuff was, hard to search if you can't find what was released.

I said their internal post for a reason, more to do with the this area uses this carrier this other area can use these two etc. type notes. Our post will deliver anywhere in the country.

Their internal post doesn't have a proper address system to work with, so I'll cut them some slack.

Also, you can send and pick up packages *24/7* from Japanese Post Offices, miss a Saturday morning post here and you're bunned until Monday.

Royal Mail and Parcelforce are both *brass*. Parcelforce with their deliberate non-delivery so you have to go pick it up, plus the amount of time it takes them to send you a letter if you have customs charges to pay. RM don't deliver in the early morning any more most areas like they used to, so you're bunned if you have to go to work and have something bigger than a letter to receive. Plus the outrageous charges they slap on tings if you have something through them that incurs customs.

I've had more than enough problems with both of them to last a lifetime. They're great if you just send Birthday cards and the odd letter, though, I guess.

Parcelforce's change to hold and advise on customs charges was for some valid reasons. Saves their drivers having to deal with cash and it was too easy to give them fake cheques.

If you have a tracking number and you see the status as awaiting payment of charges you just ring them up and pay and it turns up next day. Or go to the holding depot and pay and collect. I have to say I prefer it. (also the depot is round the corner from work ;))

The other option is the DHL way, sometime later you get a letter saying 'oh BTW you owe us money!'.

They used to phone you in advance, and they are the only courier firm who even asks for the money up front anyway, rather than sending you a bill.

Plus, *they charge you an extra tenner for the privilege of having to sort out your own mail*.
