Synopsis from Satori Screen:
In this spectacular anime a group of scientists invent a device that allows therapists to enter their client’s dreams. When a “dream terrorist” steals it, all hell breaks loose and it is up to Atsuko, codenamed “Paprika”, to retrieve it. Paprika is a visual phantasmagoria from highly acclaimed director Kon (Perfect Blue) and was a key influence on Christopher Nolan’s Inception.
Paprika was the last feature film completed by director Satoshi Kon, the man behind Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers, and Millennium Actress. Upon its release it won awards and impressed many critics and, as pointed out on the Satori Screen webpage, it inspired Christopher Nolan’s 2010 sci-fi film Inception. It features a soundtrack by Susumu Hirasawa (Berserk).
