Looking at it again I think like 90% of what's in that trailer wasn't in the film.

*Prisoners being lead onto a ship
*Multiple kids being given "silver hair"
*3 kids in the giant tree
*Guy with cyborg head

Aaaawww... now i know what happens

I can only assume that maybe they made extra footage soley for trailer footage. I've known movies do that in the past like. Makes the movie a whole new experience.

That's kinda misleading. How long before the trailer looks like this and then the film is actually this.

Plus some of those scenes in the trailer imply a quite different storyline, so it's not even like they were small scenes that they just decided to leave out of the film but have in the trailer.

To be honest, I haven't seen the film yet (however looking fwrd to it) so I haven't got anything to go off. I'm suprised that the trailer looked completely off the story to the film like. I can see how it could be fustrating. Naruto does it all the time when showing teasers for the movies.

Maybe the trailer is only there to depict the world and it inhabitance to you rather than give you a guid/idea to the story?

It's unused material for the sequal (if the first film proved successful!) called Origin: Spirits of the Past; Death & Rebirth.
