Opinions on Tweeny Witches (Mahou Shoujo Tai)?

Has anyone been watching Tweeny Witches (Mahou Shoujo Tai) (fansubs)? Opinions? It's a horrifically unpopular shoujo series that seems to have been ignored by the masses since 2004... I ask because this punky shoujo series looks wonderful and has been animated to almost theatrical standards by Studio 4°C (who also worked on Memories, Spriggan and Steamboy).

I've just seen the first two episodes and it was impressively vivid stuff. Despite obviously being based on the "Alice in Wonderland" fairytale, it has some real attitude and none of the sickly sweetness of other shoujo series. Each episode is only 9 minutes. The story moves fast and is a little bizarre but when the animation is this magical, it's well worth persevering with.

I decided to begin this series due to reading about it on recent anime blog Star Crossed, where the style of animation - somewhat retro but as beautiful as any of today - caught my eye. So far I've seen the first ten episodes, and I'm impressed; the series builds an interesting plot as it moves along, and I'm hooked already. The nine-minute burst episode length works well with the show, which for me has a distinct magical aura only found in shows such as Princess Tutu or Full Moon.

THis was really compelling viewing for me & a very jaded mate of mine. What really got me was how imaginative its setting was. After a few episodes I was sayign to myself 'I *so* want to play a game in this world'.

I put it on hold recently, but now its all fansubbed. Unfortuneatly the quality difference between the DVD & TV versions is very pronounced. Shame.

I've seen this an aweful lot on animesuki, and have been deciding on getting it or not, i think i'll wait for thr 1-40 batch file of the DVD version before getting it tho :)

I'm up to episode 6 now and I'm really enjoying it. Imagine a mixtue of Studio 4C's colorful short "Noiseman Sound Insect" and a kind of all female version of Harry Potter mixed with the funner elements of Last Exile; basically, this has just been a really fun (and very stylish) punky shoujo adventure.
