Having a tough day? Why not settle down and read our latest edition of "The Great Unwashed Anime", our monthly supplement of previews for the latest and greatest anime that yet to be released outside of Japan.

For October's edition, the Anime UK News team have passed their eclectic eyes over Glass Mask (2005), Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, King of Bandit Jing in Seventh Heaven, The Diary of Tortov Roddle and Tsubasa Chronicle.

So in your opinion, what's the best unlicensed anime out there right now?

For me, it's a tie between Honey & Clover, BECK and MONSTER. All are what I would consider brilliant (and diverse) examples of anime.

Maria-Sama Ga Miteru is the one show that must be licensed so more people can experience its greatness! Although there are certainly a fair few titles out there that shoudl be licensed. Sadly a great many of the best ones will not.

The best anime never get a chance to get the golden license: Maria-sama ga Miteru, Glass Mask, Spaceship Girl Yamamoto Yohko TV, The Snow Queen (probably).

I expect lesser anime like Honey & Clover to get licensed by ADV and go into obscurity lol. :p

HOMEMADE VAPORIZERS

Honey and Clover, Tsubasa and Hunter X Hunter are my favourites (no surprises there then ;) ) although there are a number of other series I'd like to see licensed as well- even though most of them never will be.

I would go for the same 3. MONSTER is the one I wanted to see licensed the most.

I agree with Paul that Monster is outstanding - very creepy, atmospheric and highly original. Blood+ has got off to a good start as well, and I'll be following that with great interest.

I haven't seen a lot of the newer anime out there, so I'd probably have to say the one I'm watching now, Yakitate!! Japan is my choice. Surprisingly cohesive given the plot, and of course, very silly.

Good to see the inclusion of Jing in 7th Heaven on that list. I like that OVA.

Monster is like a Cowboy Bebop, or Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, thats more geared towards an adult audience. Once people start watching it, they'll realize that anime can be an adult, mature art form, rather than just a childish Pokemon type show.

Monster, unsuprisingly, along with the likewise afformentioned Honey and Clover, Beck, Tsubasa Chronicle, HxH, Maria-sama, Bleach, Yakitake, et al. The Diary of Tortov Roddle that Paul mentions above also must be licensed at all costs, no matter how unlikely it is; I must admit however that I found little to really cherish in Jing in the Seventh Heaven OVA, although I did enjoy it, and it certainly deserves to be released.

From other titles, most pressingly: Full moon wo sagashite, which is probably my favourite mahou shoujo show. Turn A Gundam, because it's gundam and has the series' best setting, as well as being more unique than most of the franchise. I would mention Fantastic Children, but I believe Bandai have it licensed.

And then, moving onto more current series, just the brilliance of the first episodes of Noein, Blood+ and Jigoku Shoujo makes me wish that they were already licensed and released so I could watch them sooner.

Well my favourites at the moment are Bleach and Yakitate Japan, but then theres also Honey & Clover and Peach Girl. So those are what i would most like to see licensed at some point in the future, and probably Maria-sama Ga Miteru also
