Nurse Witch Komugi PReview

Got it through the post, watched it, thought 'oh my god!!'
I remember seeing it in HMV, and thought that it might be interesting, looked it up on the web. Noticed that it had voice acting talents like John Swasey, Chris Patton and Luci Christian, thought ' WOW, this seems quite good'. Not until I watched it though, the voice of Mugimaru (Luci Christian) was just plain annoying, not that I could just have a go at the voice actors/actresses.
I didn't even think that the idea for it was all that original, more like a re-branding of Puni Puni Poemy.
Though there was some parody's that Excel/Poemy didn't involve, (like Transformers and Battle of the Planets). Small parts in the OVA were funny, like the third episode, where Komugi's on the beach, and
there's this sign that reads 'We've got Crabs'. LMAO

Overall I give it a 4/10, for a least trying and bits of humour

Just seems that Kyoto animation, for westernised audiences, don't have a good rep so far. Maybe different in America, but then, that's America .
Hopefully Lucky Star maybe different for me, but then something tells me 'Azumanga Diaoh'

So wait... what? It sucks? Damn, I was eventually going to watch it, having bought it at the September Expo in the Midlands, oh well, I'll still give it a try anyway.

Miko Miko Nurse! This is what got me interested in it btw, even though the song has nothing to do with the series. ;_;

I did the same thing, and I found that Nurse Witch Komugi didn't quite live up to my expectations - there was some nice animation in places and a few funny jokes, but I don't think it's something I'll be dying to watch again (well, I might watch the cosplay competition bit again!). I might get crucified for this, but I enjoyed Lucky Star more...

Talking of which, although they've got similar settings and themes, Lucky Star and Azumanga Daioh are both just as enjoyable in their own ways.

Mmm, that's pretty much what I'd heard about it, so I didn't pick it up. Thanks for letting us know ^^

Dunno why KyoAni would have a bad rep, it's not as if they make the anime - they just do the animation. And they do it well, regardless of how good the series as a whole turns out to be.
AzuDai and LS have quite different humour. The former's more accessible, the latter's got a more slice-of-life vibe.
