no more ecchi?

Well... good! I'm sure this is directed to the more extreme cases like dodgy hardcore hentai anyway so I doubt it will have much effect unless get your fix from watching that kind of thing. It won't be for such things as say Perfect Blue which contains stalking and attempted rape as it's presented as a serious drama including the effects of those actions and not 'normalized'.

Not this again. I think I can distill my feelings into three statements now:

1. Fictional characters don't need the protection of the law.

2. People should not be prosecuted for thought crime.

3. How depicting fictional sexual abuse is any different / worse than depicting fictional killing I'll never know. Presumably we'd still be okay to watch people be torn limb from limb in Elfen Lied.

Get your ******* act together UN. Spend more of your time protecting real people from real discrimination.

I was discussing this with one of my guests just the other day, that in JP mysoginistic porn seemed to be the majority and common place.

She was telling me that in an interview in JP a guy actually asked the colour of her underwear.

This isn't the first time the UN have made these demands. Like in previous cases, I suspect little will become of it. Realistically speaking, slaps on wrists would be the most that'd result.

Well, it doesnt go against romantic relationships and fanservice, so it wont destroy ecchi stuff. It the hardcore rape and portrail of unethical sexual/perversed actions (stalking, bondage, child porn/abuse etc.).
For example, hentai can still be hentai, since it's probably about the protagonist finding a relationship with a girl or dating/sleeping with different girls. However, if the "hentai" is based on children getting whipped in leather, pierced with sharp objects/tentacles (as an extreme), or a woman getting gang-banged violently by thugs/students etc: Stop the print! We got ourselves some majorly f***ed up directors! *Ba-dum-tish*

So they would probably take action with the extremes and the freaky, rather than fanservice in general. A pic ok Yoko Littner's bum in panties/shorts facing camera isn't going to be written off as "Discrimitive" as it's just good flavoured fan service.

I understand that the eroge industry has already instituted a self-imposed ban on rape games, which came about as a result of this. So, uh, the industry is already policing itself without UN interference.

Ah, great moral crusader Keith Vaz. If there's one person I would very much like to hear had been repeatedly sexually assaulted in an underground station...

As of late UN is becomnig more of a joke than anything else.

It's sad, because the whole idea is interesting, but I think it's partly because the USA decided to ignore UN's warning about starting that war...

thank you, ive been pointing this out to people for years, the US destroyed what little credibility the UN had, because of this, superpowers can do **** completely unchecked, that and the "right to veto" make the UN worthless and pointless, its essentially a limp puppet of the majour powers, without serious reform it will probably fail within a decade or two.

Resist, Resist, the UN's full of Terrorists!

funny i thought it was BNPs'

anyhow i know most of this news, that and what japan was hoping to ban in VN games. There was also a protest about this too, which i really can't say i blame them, though it amazes me how illusions biko series never caught any attention. Maybe it wasn't rapey enough to be put on Amazon, who knows
