According to the October issue of NEO magazine, Studio Madhouse's founder Masao Maruyama has revealed that they are currently working on a new Trigun movie; and it's planned to be released in a "couple of years".

I can well imagine Trigun as the sort of anime to get a sequel movie, even all these years after the series; the manga still seems to be going pretty strong sales-wise. I'm not sure if i'll watch this when it eventually is released, though, since I don't exactly regard the series with piety, but I am interested to see where the creators will take this new chapter in the Trigun franchise.

I haven't read the Trigun Manga yet, but I probably will eventually.

Chomolungma, may I ask, where is your avatar from?

Just like cowboy bebop had a movie, now this is awesome ^^.All we need now is an Outlaw star movie and the tri-force of sci -fi anime is complete.

What he said.

I doubt this would be a re-telling of events, considering how long it's been since the original series was released. And I really did love that series. The characters were really good, especially Wolfwood. He competes with Spike Spiegel when it comes to outright cool in a suit.

Paranoia Agent. Texhnolyze. Beck. MONSTER. What do all these great series have in common? They were all produced by Madhouse (and these are just the recent few). These days, Madhouse are pretty much my favourite anime studio (along side Studio BONES) and so I'm expecting this Trigun movie to be another classy production. I'm looking forward to this! :)

i'll watch it even if it does simply re tell the entire series!! tho i would like some kind of prequel movie. from what i gathered in the series (which was lost from me for all time when my computer died and took the fan subs with it) they were just on the ship with Rem.
