The newest entry into the Monogatari series will début in October and is called Owarimonogatari.

Going by the art, it looks like it's finally going to be an Ougi based arc. GET HYPE.

So it's officially confirmed then. I knew a new Monogatari arc was being adapted but it was simply rumours at the time (only about a few weeks back). But it's nice to see more arcs adapted. In fact how many are left? I know Kizumonogatari won't be around until 2016 (if rumours are true) but isn't there like 2 arcs left or something?

And of course there's Monogatari series: Next Season which hasn't been released yet.

Going by the Wikia, there is Owarimonogatari then Zokuowarimonogatari and that's it, aside from the aforementioned Kizumonogatari film and the as yet unpublished Tsugimonogatari novel.

Well then I guess I should catch up with Monogatari at some point. I haven't bothered watching them on Crunchyroll/Daisuki due to SHAFT changing the artwork etc for the Blu-ray version, plus who wouldn't resist the Blu-rays! So in general I need to pickup Neko White, Kabuki, Otori, Oni, Koi, Hana and Tsuki sets from Aniplex at some point.

If you're going for the Aniplex sets, that's going to cost you an enormous amount.

Glad this is going to be a full season and not just more OVAs - will be waiting for the MVM discs as I've got those so far, but am sure Crunchyroll will have this in the meantime

Tsuki will probably be relevant to this but hana not so much. I think daisuki streamed tsuki but only for a month or something :/

I've done the same with Bake, Nise and Neko Black so I'm not a stranger with Aniplex. I'm somewhat glad they released them in individual arcs, makes it easier to get them at okay prices rather than some of their bigger boxes (*points to £151.37 Fate/stay night Box 1, then again I'll end up getting that at some point*). At least the Aniplex sets last way longer than other LEs do because of the price point. I was able to get a lot of them because people imported the UK and Aussie versions. They've probably done the same to Monogatari thanks to MVM.

There's also Koyomimonogatari which is a series of short stories.

Last time I thought that about an arc it turned out to be more about another character than the one I thought it was. I totally expect Monogatari to hint at one thing and then do something else.

Are we starting the third 'season' yet? I'd assumed Second Season was over with the TV episodes and the OVA but I just saw a 7th arc of second season go up for preorders so it's getting a bit confusing. Not to mention Season one is still lacking it's movie, I'm not sure if labelling things as seasons makes it clearer or adds another layer of confusion.

Maybe it's a double double bluff and they'll do exactly what you would have expected had you not expected them to expect you'd expect it.

Ah, Monogatari. Confusing people across the globe since 2006. I always find it easier to ignore the 'season' labels and just focus on the individual arc names, it's confusing enough as it is without adding another layer of clutter. Not that it makes things that much clearer with regards to Owarimonogatari, as its spread across three separate points in the Monogatari timeline. As I understand it it's something like this...

Kizumonogatari
Nekomonogatari Kuro
Bakemonogatari volume 1
Bakemonogatari volume 2
Nisemonogatari volume 1
Nisemonogatari volume 2
Kabukimonogatari
Nekomonogatari Shiro & Onimonogatari & Owarimonogatari volume 2 (the events of these three stories occur simultaneously)
Owarimonogatari volume 1
Otorimonogatari
Koimonogatari
Tsukimonogatari
Koyomimonogatari
Owarimonogatari volume 3
Zoku-Owarimonogatari
Hanamonogatari

Only Monogatari could get away with a timeline so convoluted that I have to keep it written in a text file on my computer. Even Haruhi wasn't this bad.

Well wow with the owari volumes being spread out through the time lines. This will be the first properly potentially confusing bit. I hope it clears some mystery about gaen too and the mission she wanted kanbaru for. It will be cool to rewatch in chronological order in 5-10 years.

TBH, they kind of have to make it Ougi focused. I mean, she's been a consistent mystery since the start of Season 2 with pretty much nothing being revealed about her, even her gender is kind of up in the air since Hana.

Well she has been appearing in-between arcs. Owari part 1 will be probably introduce and show about how she influenced nadeko to become the snake god.
