New member titles

Rui suggested making a thread dedicated to brain storming new member titles so here it is. ^^

If you have any ideas then please feel free to suggest them below and I'm sure Rui will have a look over them at some point. :)
 
So when we set up the member titles before, the way we did it was to get people to submit their ideas for cool titles and then allocated them to particular post count milestones.

It sucks that everyone has lost their post counts from before (even though a few have been salvaged for posterity). But if anyone wants to come up with a cool, anime-themed list to start the ball rolling we can get some new rank titles in place for a bit of fun any time :)

Perhaps if we try to limit it to one title per series?

Enforcer should so be the default moderator title (except it would hardly ever be seen as the mods have custom titles)...

I did always wonder what 1. was. Must say, I'm a little disappointed, Claymore was already in there and Silver Eyed Witch is just another term for a Claymore...

I'm also just realising now how many GitS titles there were. I'm probably a little bias, but one was enough! :p
 
Yeah there was a definite strong bias towards the titles which were very popular on the forums at the time (lol). Let's only have one title per series to avoid dating things too much :D

I was wondering if we can have a kinda regular status? Like if you're active or post X amount a month you get a special logo or colour or something? Then again that might encourage spamming or pointless posts.

Ok let's do this in a half-baked democratic way so I don't keep forgetting about it.

Everyone (who cares) list your favourite titles from the suggestions thus far (or make new ones up) and rank them in order, then I'll arbitrarily close the voting at some point in time and allocate the titles with the staff in some whimsical and completely unfair way based on my perception of their popularity and suitability :D

Preference really, but if you have suggestions for placement that's great to have too.

I decided to ignore the order and list things categorically instead.

The one thing other than the Jugemu one that I would say absolutely should not be used for a post count level is Enforcer as it sounds too much like a staff position. I'd in general prefer things that are more generic terms or titles rather than those that can only refer to one specific character, and only one thing listed below falls into that latter category.

Things that could reasonably be kept from the old list - but not in the same places (except thousand master which is perfectly suited for 1000 for obvious reasons and also is the sole exception mentioned above):

20. Claymore
21. Thousand Master
23. Pokémon Master
24. Brigade Leader
25. State Alchemist
27. Accidental Time-Traveller (or get rid of the Accidental bit)

What's wrong with the Jugemu one? I think if anyone makes a million posts, they deserve to have a forum title like that! :lol:
