However when people often tell me that things where we are now in history haven't improved, I often just say "But at least old men aren't freely marrying 15 year old girls like they used to, and that is an improvement". I stand by the sentiment. Humans were designed to do all kinds of stupid stuff and be victims to our senses and desires, however one thing that separates human from less sentient animals is that we are also blessed to be capable of superseding our senses and no longer be mere victims of them, and I'm talking about achieving this all through natural (or super natural?) methods of course.
Sorry I've gone a complete tangent (as is characteristic of me), I was having the same sort of discussion with a friend the other day.
Any way I'm sure Bride story will handle the subject maturely and be great. I'm going to check it out.
