Sounds too good to be true, but it looks to be legit. With the latest volume of Berserk, Volume 35 in japan, it has a jacket band  that announced that this month, a new anime project was set to be launched. Not much else has been said on the matter just yet, however more information will be announced via Hakusensha's Young Animal Magazine and website.

Best news I've heard in ages.

Truly awesome news :D

I remember seeing some screens a while back along with a rumour it would be an OVA done by Studio 4°C. Still, might have all been trolling and fakery so I am curious how this will be done, particularly whether it will be a reboot or a continuation of the original anime.

I'm hoping it's a reboot as an OVA series so that they don't censor the violence and gore and it gets a bigger budget.

I want to see the studio/staff before I get too excited. This might be done by Bee Train, after all. And it might be a random made-for-manga-readers OVA.

*waits*

If anyone desires a favour from Arbalest, one presumes that his current mood is so elated that he'll agree to anything. Use this opportunity wisely, chaps.

All bar Zin get a favour from me...wait what?

Regardless, I am just glad we finally get something confirmed. What it is, reboot, or continuation, i'll be watching it, and hoping it's completely uncensored, as the censorship doesn't help it none.

@Wildcard: I'll link that set of screens that where apparently done by Studio 4C later, but yeah, i do wonder about the legitimacy of it all now, it'd be awesome if it was them working on it. But we'll need to wait and see, i expect we'll get more news within a week or two.

Yeah, sure, let's go with OVAs, that way we condense an ENTIRE 200 pages of work into one 50 minute high quality animation episode with two episodes released a year.

BRILLIANT!

But really now, I just hope it's a continuation, they cut a fair bit of content out of the Golden Age, no Silat or Wyld or Skull Knight either. Silat is a recurring character, Wyld isn't important, but Skull Knight...? Luckily they stopped at the end of the Eclipse, they could continue right from there.

I just want Hirasawa doing the music again, it's ALL I need to know for certain this series is going to be good, he's probably the only person who could truly convey the "true epic" feel of Berserk with his music.

If they continue they could probably get through Lost Children in about 8 episodes or so, the Retribution arc is what I'm most worried about, there's no way they will air that uncut.

For those wondering, ANN added another update to their post on Berserk in which Director Hiroyuki Kitakubo mentioned studio [blank]C......Studio 4°C anyone? So....if that is true, can we expect that the screens we see here could actually be legit?

Or just log into niconico as per normal. They do allow non japanese users.

it censored a different letter both times.

A W E S O M E !
Hope they get the old staff together for this if possible with a better budget. The anime was epic in every sense, from music to plot, from animation to characters. Loving it!
