Death Note: Only if I win it, or watch it in the future and it really is 'all that'.

Negima!?: I am currently on ep8. So far it is a bit better than the other version. We shall see...

So... I know nothing about Negima other than what I just read on Wikipedia - But let me get this straght, the 2006 series is a 're-imagined' (so sayeth the box) version of the 2005 series?

Fastest re-make ever? How long before the next version of a series is in production before the first has even finished airing? They'll soon be having to start pre-production on version three as version one goes to be animated.

the Negima! manga has been around since 2003, the Negima!? manga came out in 2006, by then Negima! had at least 15 volumes

it's meant to focus on comedy and magical battles more than fanservice, from what i've heard on here the anime adaption doesn't seem to fit that description...

I agree on the more comedy and action front, but I don't really remember any fanservice is the first one, where there is some in this. In fact, quite alot...

What kind of extras does the Death Note boxset have besides the artbook? Like extras on the discs?

Just the illustration book (physical extra) I believe. Unless they really do want to train all of their singles buyers to never touch another single release from them again. Because adding on-disc extras to a cheaper box set collection would certainly teach me fast.

Nothing for me this week anyway, already have DN and don't want Negima!

yes, and good god, u think negima!? is better than the first?

i have no choice but to question peoples tastes now

not me, i dropped that rubbish after a dozen episodes or so. to much of Akiyuki's previous gags spoiled it

If the extras from the Death Note single releases have been retained. (Of course they have)

Then you'll find audio commentaries and ADR featurettes, Production Art Galleries, spread across all nine discs (no commentary on disc one), and one Japanese production featurette on disc 1.

Are these the same extras as on the region 1 releases?

The Death Note manga is awesome. Best manga I have ever read.
Yeah, it's pretty good. I'm done with vol. 7 now. Gotta get the rest when they come out in danish

I just think I'll finish the DN manga series instead. Negima looks like sh*t to me.
the Negima manga is fairly good (if copious amounts of Ecchi is your thing), but the anime is poor from what i hear
Unless it has a overwhelming good plot, I don't think it's my thing. :p

The only difference that I have read about is that Region 1's volume 1 has an audio commentary that the Region 2 disc is missing. I've also read reviews that state that the first audio commentary is really crap, and that we don't miss anything by losing it.
