New Anime Releases - 08/12/2014

Space Dandy worth a watch? It's only a small number of episodes isn't it? That might make me wait for the price to knock down a bit.

That Blu-ray is 13 episodes since it consists of the first season. Overall, Space Dandy is 26 episodes all together since there's two seasons. I haven't seen the show myself since it doesn't seem like my type of show at all but a lot of people seem to like it :)

Already own the US release of Bakemonogatari.

May pick up Blast of Tempest, if it's ever released on Blu-ray.

Not interested in The Miyazaki Collection.

May pick up Space Dandy at a later date.

Ah man, Amazon have pulled some kind of funny stuff with that Miyazaki boxset, it dropped from £180 to £134.52 on 7 December, and my copy was dispatched on 6 December at a pre-order price of 160.40.

Does their price guarantee hold on this as it was due on 8/12/14 or have they screwed everyone over that pre-ordered?

edit

Where a physical item has a stated release date, if your order enters the dispatch process before that date and the price of the item drops below the price you were charged between the date of dispatch and the release date, we'll automatically refund to your payment card the difference between the price you were charged and the lower price.

Looks like I should be ok

Still waiting for Zavvi to dispatch my copy of Space Dandy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that boxed version of Bakemonogatari more expensive than the two singles it combines together?

It still works out as a few pounds cheaper, if you buy them straight from Amazon. You can use the "New & Used" section on Amazon to get it from MVM Entertainment for £35.99 + £1.26 delivery, but I don't know how long that price will last. Plus, Base are selling it for something like 36.99, which is pretty much the same.

Got Space Dandy: Collector's Part 1 (Blu-Ray) on preorder at Zavvi (waiting for shipment confirmation), might get Blast of Tempest when it is a complete collection. The others I am not interested in.

Edit: Got an email today from Zavvi - my copy of Space Dandy is in the post.

I have to admit, following their inconsistent messaging re. delivering Space Dandy, I'm unlikely to use Zavvi again after this - have been tempted in the past following lower prices - but Amazon always seems to come down and match them in the end, and are usually far prompter in posting out.

I've got the Bakemonogatari singles, normally I'd prefer a complete set but in this case I prefer the singles because I like the artworks better than the one used on the complete set.

I'll get Tempest when it's in a complete set. Hopefully a BluRay will appear by then.

I've got most of the Ghibli BluRays already so there's no reason for me to get the fancy set.

I dropped Dandy when it was streaming but I'll take another look at it when a standard edition is available.

Just Space Dandy for me at the moment

Remember, the price is for the collectors edition, with an artbook, so if it's out of your price range/don't want an artbook then wait for the 'bare bones' release :)

January 19th for that, so not long.

This post makes a sequel to my post about the 24 November releases.

► ANIME LIMITED:
◄ Space Dandy BD CE: I don't know. Space Dandy is a special case where I can't make out whether I'd like it!
It's ironical that the ideal anime for a dubfan has to be the anime I doubt. I've watched multiple trailers and still can't work it out. I'll leave it on the backburner notice.

► MVM ENTERTAINMENT:
◄ Blast of Tempest part 2 DVD: Still expecting Aniplex to pull an Aniplex on us, because they're Aniplex. So no-go!
◄ Bakemonogatari BD: If Monogatari Second Season gets a boxset I'm very likely to pick up this Bakamonogatari BD set. Regardless, I'm interested!

► STUDIO CANAL:
◄ Hayao Miyazaki Blu-ray collection: My reply to the 24 November Studio Canal release still applies here. Go visit that thread. It's linked in this post even.

You surely mean 12 January unless I'm misunderstanding the subject or have missed an announcement.
