Guess I don't know of her then... I really want to see that show, but alas I demand an english dub. Kinda holding out hope of some way to see the Animax-Asia dub or sumit...

To be fair, I doubt Amazon care about what they're selling or what it claims to be. Manga would be the ones to ask about that. Yamamoto and Hosoda (the Art Director and Director respectively) have been involved with Ghibli - it's a tenuous link for sure, but probably enough to validate Manga's claim.Mohawk52 said:But another case in point. I recently received "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" DVD and on the wrapper was a sticker saying the same thing. Studio Ghibli had absolutely no input for this film, so what's that all about? I even wrote to Amazon about it, but got no reply.
Yeah, mine had that too. I just assumed that like Hayao Miyazaki's aunt's daughter's husband's dog had visited the studio once or somerthing like that.Mohawk52 said:Exactly! You saw that in the credits, did you? I'm at work now so can't play it, but there isn't any info at ANNs encyclopedia that shows any involvement by Studio Ghibli.unellmay said:iisan said:Yeah, mine had that too. the art direction was done by them
Has chaos instated that ignore user function already, and has everyone chosen to ignore me?ayase said:Yamamoto and Hosoda (the Art Director and Director respectively) have been involved with Ghibli - it's a tenuous link for sure, but probably enough to validate Manga's claim.

Mohawk52 said:Sorry ayase, I didn't see that either, however that is tenuous.....at best. It's like Kadokawa PR department walked in and asked "Hey, anybody here work for Ghibli in the past?" these two raised their hand, and the PR manager said, "Yes! Slap a sticker on." It's going to become meaningless soon, if it hasn't already.
Well I bought it too, but not for that reason alone, and regardless sticker, or no sticker. I wonder how that makes the other people involved in the creation of it who haven't worked for Ghibli in the past feel?unellmay said:Mohawk52 said:Sorry ayase, I didn't see that either, however that is tenuous.....at best. It made me buy it
so your point is mute

Ends on a cliffhanger so you know

I know, I've seen it before and read most of the manga to date. Just don't have my own copy yet.
unellmay said:seems pointless but whatever * cough you could like watch something you haven't seen that doesn't end on a cliff hanger? End cough*

Or I could buy an awesome series that happens to have a disappointing ending. You didn't like it? Fine by me. I did, it's a worthy purchase, I'll enjoy rewatching it.
unellmay said:Sorry
I just never though I would hear the words disappointing and worthy purchase in the same sentence 8O
Wildcard said:I've rarely seen an anime, film or TV series that hasn't been disappointing in some regard. Nothing's perfect, everything's flawed in some way but I'm less concerned about what a show does wrong than what it does right. Berserk delivers gripping drama, engaging character development and gritty action. Part of the reason the ending is a disappointment is because the build up was so good.
