Ogling the artwork, Uppa returns to the task at hand!

Does anyone, per chance, know when the canon material starts up again in Bleach? I've neither seen nor read any of the series beyond the Soul Society, so I'd like to plan when to resume collecting this.

Truth be told, I'm a bit crestfallen that Bleach appears to become laden with filler from this point. Though I couldn't quite muster any excitement for the story, I was consistently impressed with the quality of the art and animation in its opening saga, alongside the speed with which the show progressed.

I'm concerned that I won't be compelled to continue with Bleach if the quality of the art, animation and pacing are compromised. It's a shame, too; I like the director for Bleach--he did a rather admirable job on Yu Yu Hakusho.

Sorry mate, but I’ve kept upto date with the manga…until it hit true DBZ styles with fights spoilt with flashbacks, constant talk of “muhahaha I’m uber invincible” then for them to have a very drawn out and boring downfall, I collected the manga to around 26-27 (can’t remember) and then went out and bought the first 3 full boxsets. Which end with rukia being saved from the the Soul society’s death penalty. Shortly after series 3 it loses the focus and dedication and hits filler fodder, along with the DBZ-esqe style that worked for DBZ but now anything trying to be as long standing and follows similar traits is seen as cliché, in the end I dropped the manga, and decided to keep the respect for the series by leaving it at series 3.

Upto you whether your really dedicated or not, personally the author put me off the title for being so boring and drawn out over everything.
 
@Tachi: wqouldn't that be because Shounen Jump are the publishers, and as a result they just want Kubo to keep drawing out loads of boring crap? The longer the manga draws out, the more money they get

Shueisha are the publisher, Weekly Shounen Jump is the magazine.

If it got bad enough to start loosing significant numbers of readers then they should step in. There's no point not just letting the mangaka do what they want to when they have 6-700k readers.

There's no reason for egging them to make it longer either, if it finishes you'll likely publish their next one as well.
 
Isn't it widely known that Toriyama wanted DB to end well before it did, though? I can't imagine the situation with whatever author to be hugely dissimilar now. Lightning in a bottle and all.
