Neon Genesis Evangelion Manga

So, are they any good?

I'm thinking of ordering volume 1 of the 'normal' manga and the first volume of Angelic Days too. Are either any good? Is the normal manga basically the exact same as the anime?

I've only read the 1st volume and its basically the first couple of episodes with a few differences. Seeing as the manga is still running and the anime ended over 10 years ago it must break somewhere.

Yeah the manga is albeit a few differences the same judging from the 7 or so volumes Ive read.
Wouldint know much else about whats happening now cause I only rented um from my local library ages ago and never followed up having seen the series like a million times.

Although the art is fantastic and it was this manga I first begin copying when I started drawing.

Yeah, I don't quite fancy spending that much on collecting the manga series when there are so few differences to the anime.

What's Angelic Days like, then? It looks like a fun manga!

I've just ordered the "Der Mond: Art of Evangelion" hardback book and I'm really looking forward to it now! :D

It's decent, nothing amazing. The artwork varies from good to poor. If they weren't Evangelion characters then it would have probably been forgotten though it's fun to see them in that different light.

Angelic Days is quite good, it's got a loose sketchy style that seems to work quite well. And it doesn't unneccesarily tread over stuff from the series, which is good.

Still, I'm looking forward to the Petite Eva project =)

"The Petite Eva project opens with a series of collectable figurines... There's also a possibility of some form of visual media adaption" thus sayeth Newtype.

Basically, it is (will be?) a product franchise at the moment.

These are some of the figures:

I'll have to scan up the cool drawings that exist too.

I got Angelic Days vol. 1 yesterday and it's awesome! I've read about 50 pages of it and I really like it. It's awesome to see the Eva characters in this way and the story progress in a different way. I like the art, even if it is a bit inconsistent and untidy!

Oh and Kaworu is there from the beginning! YAY!! =)
