In the January 2006 issue of NEO Magazine, their 2006 preview reveals several exciting nuggets of UK-related news. Beez are said to be lining up Mai Hime for release in May and .hack// Legend of the Twight in June (along with Eureka 7).

On the UK manga front, there are a slew of new titles from TokyoPop and Gollancz. In 2006 TokyoPop will be releasing Mobile Suit Gundam: Lost War Chronicles, Psychic Academy, Remote and Samurai Champloo while Viz's UK partners Gollancz are looking to release Flame of Recca, Maison Ikkoku, One Piece and Rurouni Kenshin.

NEO are also suggesting that ADV UK have imminent plans to launch their own online DVD shop, stocked with "loyalty schemes", "special sales" and "limited edition items". More news on this as we hear it. [NEO]

I'm sure a lot of people will be happy to see that Mai Hime will be coming to the UK sooner rather than later, I know we have more than a few Hime fans here ;) Personally, I'm really happy to see that Rurouni Kenshin will be released over here; I loved the TV series and I really want to find out how it all concludes for Kenshin.

Also, anyone else intrigued by this ADV UK shop? I hope they will be selling art boxes through this!

TokyoPop need to start releasing the Niea_7 manga. 'Temporarily postponed' my arse, that was over 2 years ago! >: (

Oh it's past midnight, happy birthday to me.

Personally, I would have thought any manga company would be falling over themselves to get some of ABe's manga licenced (although I'm a bit biased!). Haibane Renmei has some stunning artwork, and I think there's some Serial Experiments Lain manga out there somewhere. Niea_7 would make for quite a successful title, wouldn't it?

It would be very interesting to see what ADV have online though - the US ADV site has special offers on DVDs periodically, and an online shop in the UK will solve the common 'not enough shelf space' problem for box sets.

Happy birthday btw. :D

Good to see Mai HiME and Eureuka 7 will be hitting our shores sooner rather than later, the latter in particular is a series I've been looking forward to for a while. Tokyopop putting some Gundam on shelves too, that just seals the deal.

The ADV shop sounds interesting, I'm already crossing my fingers for an UK exclusive Last Exile artbox ;), wishful thinking maybe, but in all seriousness if these are the kind of 'Limited Edition' items that will be up for grabs I could see this really taking off.

You read my mind. :)

Definitely interested if they'll finally be giving us a few artboxes to keep all those DVD's in. Odds are it won't be cheap though, at least compared to places like play.com, but we'll see.

starts to burst into tears*

why does everyone here call it legend of the twilight when its legend of the twilight bracelett

*goes off on a quest to kill anyone who calls it LOTT again*

Maybe because Bandai and Tokyopop call it Legend of the Twilight :p

Anyway, a nice range of titles set to hit our shores- I'm looking forward to Mai Hime and the Kenshin manga in particular (good see Gollancz still going strong, I have to admit to having had some initial worries their manga releases might peter out). And naturally some "limited edition items" from ADV won't go amiss; if artboxes do become the order of the day, I wouldn't say no to a Noir one.

Looking forward to Mai Hime. If Beez deliver on time this will only be 2 months at most after the American launch of the series. Art boxes in the ADV store would be good too.
