Naruto Graphic Novel Boxset (1-27)

Death Scythe
As nothing is confirmed at the moment, I can't make a proper news report on it, so I'll post here.

I reported that Viz announced they'd be releasing a boxset of the entire first story of Naruto in a limited edition boxset for Thanksgiving (November 22), as seen in the press release
I had heard nothing about it since, no updates at all.
So last night I was looking down the listings on ANN, trying to see what Geneon titles there were that I didn't have, and I found it hiding in the Viz section, then it links to Amazon and they have pictures!

There are some more pictures of inserts and such things here:

I haven't seen any information for this on any other forums, or anywhere, so if you're reading this, you're probably one of the first. :D

The wording of this might seem a littler jumbled because I found loads more information after I started writing. :)

wtf... would someone really buy that? I'd suspect all the Narutards already have all the currently released volumes. They should have released the box separately for the collectors.

Still, £60 for 27 volumes isn't a bad price. As for me, I read up to #15 over the past two years, but I'm getting bored of it.

£60 for 27 volumes ia a fantastic price, just over £2 each which is much lower than usual, plus you get the box itself so it'd be well worth it. Personally though I have no interest.

I don't own any of the manga, but I would really love to, so this is the perfect opportunity. As soon as this was announced, I thought I might as well wait and see if there would be boxsets for other manga. That would be awesome.

I hope they do a Bleach box set because I would so buy that.

I was thinking the same thing. Because its still on-going, I suppose they could do one up to the end of the Soul Society arc.

Still. . .I'm SO getting this box set. I'm hoping they have it at the October Expo actually.

There should be more boxsets for manga, that's what the whole manga industry lacks when compared to the anime industry.
Although, when Tokyopop did those superb boxsets for some of their series (Card Captor Sakura, Magical Knights Rayearth, Ragnarok etc) in the proper solid artbox form those rocked. They're doing flimsy card things now though which don't make the grade unfortunately.
If Viz did collections for all their manga, it'd make a lot of people very happy. They did one for Wolf's Rain actually, a Death Note one would be in order as well. Who knows, maybe some day they'll do an ultimate Death Note collection, all the manga, anime and live-action in a massive boxset!

Ha wow!
I've read my friends Naruto manga up to volume 15.
Never been overly interested in it..but for only £60! O_O
I'm not sure if I can resist! XP *loves a good bargin*

This is so going on my wish list, I've thinking about getting this series for a while but when i thought of how much it would cost in the long run but this is amazing :D
plus a place to store it as well

Wow, i've only got up to vol.5 so this is an interesting offer. Loving the box. Is this the whole story up to shippuden?

It is as far as i know

Will this be coming out over here? Customs would have a field day if you imported it.

I tend not to read manga, more of an anime person, but for this price...

Well it is listed on amazon.co.uk, abeit for a price tag of £83.51

holy CRAP.
i may just get this.....despite me being on volume 11.
i could sell my individual volumes to those that may be interested,
but this is a defintie collectors piece.
i am really itnerested.

Yeah, I'm not sure if I want a Naruto boxset, actually. I'd love if they done something like that with Bleach or One Piece. Actually, Monster would be the manga I'd most like to see in such a boxset. Or Fullmetal Alchemist! Ah, the possibilities and these are all Viz manga, so there's a possibility!

Still, I'll definately consider getting this Naruto set.

I do doubt that a currently on-going series will be released in a box set like this. This box set carries the entire first part of the 'NARUTO', And to most people, NARUTO has come to the conclusion (With Part 2 apparently being somewhat of a letdown). As CitizenGeek mentioned, Monster could be a would be a much better possibility for a box set. Although it wouldn't be worth it for a distributor like VIZ. Monster is no where near any of VIZ' most popular titles.

I expect the next box set Death Note if anything, due to the same OTT popularity that NARUTO has; and its only 12 tankobons.
