Dandy Guy, in Space
i was going to subscribe to one of the above magazines and was wondering which one was better than the other.

ne help would be great. cheers

years ago i used to buy alot of mags and wanted to subscribe. but in the end, its a big waste of £ imo. you could by so much more stuff like anime, manga or games or whatever.

all i am asking is, do you have a broadband internet connection at home or whatever?

i thought you may have had an home internet conenction, cos if you did, then all your gaming news is sorted. hmm, not to sure on magazines...but ONM could be better

ONM always has cool little gimmicky free gifts. If that floats your boat, go for that.

Quality-of-writing-wise, I'm not too sure.

Personally, I prefer ONM. I only stopped collecting about two months ago because I realised that what I was reading could be found on sites like GoNintendo.com daily, as opposed to monthly, and for NO MONEHZ.

Is N Gamer the magazine that's incorporated NGC? Before I stopped buying them I largely prefered NGC to ONM because of their humour and insight into Nintendo's history. ONM can get too official at times and in the past they've marked up review scores to try and make games seem better which makes the magazine unrealiable.

This being said, with the Wii using regular discs as their game medium ONM may start providing demo discs with their magazine once it's released which would be useful if you intend to buy the console.

I myself only buy GamesMaster now. As a multi-format magazine I find it gives me the all printed information I need; any other info I get from forums, Gamespot, IGN and GameCentral on Teletext. Unlike other multi-format magazines it doesn't include long-winded industry reports or go text heavy on reviews and previews, and provides a large array of pictures and varied news items.

In the end it's your choice and you should base it on which magazine you like the most. I honestly can't say that I've read either one recently enough to make a valid opinion and can only state what I've learned from them in the past.

I wouldn't touch ONM with a barge pole. Easilly the most biased nintendo magazine out there, horrible. Also it seemed to treat all its readers as illiterate 8 year olds and included hardly any text describing why they think 95% of all games are great

I gave up on ONM the day they gave Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue for the N64 86%. Clearly they were just trying to make the N64 look good. It's a shame really because the early issues were quite nice with lots of misc news and features (such as a 3 issue feature on Mario's history). N64 kept going with the same type of features and news throughout its life though, as well as the honest reviews and humour (the Superman 64 review is a classic). Sadly though it started going downhill when they reformatted it to NGC as it clearly didn't have a lot of content and they relied on pointless humour features instead of factual features. This is one of the reasons why I multi-format - you don't get the drop in content when the consoles start to die.

one of the main reasons why im doing it is because for a years subscribtion with 4 quartely fees of 9.98 you also get a free wavebird not bad at all.

NGamer, totally.

I always loved N64 and NGC over the official mag.

But I must say...since the official mag has gone over to Future from emap, it's been far better than it used to be.

ONM subscriber am I. Though the internet will give you all the news the mags will, there is a certain special enjoyment to be had from reading it on paper how you like, & being able to archive it away.
