MVM: Tower Of Druaga, both Series for an RRP £39.99?

Tower Of Druaga has recently been added to Play.com upcoming Anime list. With the set containing 6 Discs and an RRP of £39.99, It looks very likely the release will contain both series. It will be released on 04 April 2011.

While this show isn't of any interest to me personally, I'm hopeful that it is indeed the case that both seasons are in there. That could mark the beginning of a trend, after all.

I always felt the situation with shows like Gantz and Black Lagoon being split into two seasons was a bit frustrating. It's nice to pick the shows up in one lump.

Interested but Gonzo always have shoddy CG and its really ofputting, it just doesn't blend at all. So I'll wait for more trailers.

Has anyone seen this? Could you compare it to any other anime out there? I've watched 2 trailers which intrigued me but I got a Wolf's Rain vibe from one and I didn't realy like that.

I'd say that it's more akin to Slayers, although not as anarchic. Try an episode or two at Crunchyroll...

Odd that they are saying six discs though. The US release was on 4, while I can't see that it's been released in Oz as yet.

Thanks. Although never fancied Slayers. Oh I'll wait and hope Funi unblock it so I can watch a few eps dubbed. Fingers Crossed.

Siren Visual released the Tower of Druaga in Oz last year.

Siren's Anime Catalogue.

Really daft way of doing it though, a separate hybrid release, on six discs with extras, and a separate Japanese only release on four discs without! Same price for both.

EDIT: I see, released six months apart! Still dumb.

MVM will have got Druaga from Gonzo, not from Siren (but they'll probably be getting materials from AU since they'll have already done the PAL conversion).
I gave up on Vandread years ago and got it from a TRSI sale.

It's not in the senses that MVM have to get the license from Siren. But for MVM to even bid on license they would need it a PAL conversion already available. MVM can't afford to do their own PAL conversion with Anime titles.
