Death Scythe
I know there are lots and lots of new series coming out and I could make a post about all of them, but I just thought I would mention this, mainly because it is said to be so totally different from a lot of other animes - something very special, which is why for any anime fan it would be a great idea to get the very sexy first volume limited edition (which apparently will sell out in pre-order status (although that's unlikely..)), anyway you get the idea it's going to be something very special, and indeed it is: http://www.funimation.com/mushishi/ - artbox design and a trailer can be found there if you haven't seen it before. Anyway not that I'm trying to sell it to you or anything, I just want to broaden the horizons of some of the people on this forum who have never ventured into buying R1.. like me a few months back, because I didn't know what I was missing.. and what better way to get into R1 buying - and seeing an outstanding anime - than Mushishi.
Where to buy this wonderous thing I hear you ask?
DVDPacific is the cheapest (not that the quality is any less) option. You can buy it for £11.36 (so much cheaper than a UK release don't you think?) + for this release £2 postage charge on the cheapest postage option, so that's £13.36 - it'll get here in a week and a bit usually and is always packed exceedingly well, so give it a try : )

Haha, that did sound like a sales ad actually, but ah well. Hope this helps someone : )[/url]

Well, it's the best series of 2006, so it deserves your praise. I'll definitely be picking up this art-box. Not only is the art beautiful, Mushishi is already an all-time great, so it's worth picking up the LE before it goes out of print (ala Cowboy Bebop).

Very, very good show. Can I just point out though that in this case the R2 is cheaper, although you don't get the Artbox and other LE extras. Why? Because it's a Revelation release in the UK, which means that the likes of Play.com sell it for £11.99. You'll have it wait a few months extra for it. Of course if you want the artbox, then that's fine, but personally, I'm not a fan of artboxes as they take up too much space.

If someone is looking to get in to buying R1s how about choosing a title not out in the UK like say Gankutsuou which DVD Pacific are selling for £9.37 + P&P.

Yeah, Gankutsuou is another one, personally I'm waiting for Geneon to release it in boxset form as the volume 1 + artbox is totally sold out, Geneon generally release the same artbox again so I'm really hoping they do..

Heh you know what I would really love Geneon to do... it would be to re-release those Card Captor Sakura Clowbook sets, as the whole series is out of print, and when I saw it years ago on CITV (>_<) it was one of the things that made me think I really love this kind of stuff, even though I didn't know what it was. I think I'll e-mail Geneon and see what they say actually; I asked them about Hellsing Ultimate 1 LE and they were exceedingly helpful, gotta love American customer service : ).

I have this on pre-order already. Its so worth the money I dont have. Also Ginko is played by the VA of Roy Mustang, which I grew to love.
