Moonphase/Desert Punk question

Hi there.Not sure if anyone will have an answer for this.

At the end of episode 10 of Desert Punk during the next episode preview his little apprentice says (in the japanese) "watch it or" and then screams "you'll be my slave". Is this supposed to be a reference to the Moonphase OP. She said it in exactly the same way.



PS. I've never watched any of Moonphase other than the OP.
 
Never watched Desert Punk but the voice actress from Moonphase is in it, so assuming that's the character who did that preview I'd say that's definitely some intentional silliness.

They were popular around the same time if I recall correctly too so it's even more likely they'd slip something in for her fans as a joke. Moonphase was very popular at the time amongst anime fans over there.

does seem quite random, i would av' guessed that they would have done it if they where both animated by shaft, but then agian.

I was watching Negima!? (the alternative show that shaft animated) and there was one episode in the OP that has a reference to hell girl (even in the dub)
