A lot of People are just simply going ignore disabling route instead go for the most brutal kill possible because the option there. While I have no problems with the direction of this game taking with it less stealth more action approach. The first look of this game seem to have overly excessive violence when the game is designed more towards you disabling opponents?

Well people would anyway. People enjoy finding the most sadisic methods of killing enemies in game. It passes the time better =P

This is what I hope for but the Trailer did put massive emphasize on cutting humans in several pieces and little of disabling opponents. So while saying its going be one thing doesn't mean it will turned out like what they say it will be.

The way i saw the trailer being shown then looked more to me as to show what the game will be capable of than just the whole "slice to a million pieces", that was more shown with the whole watermelon cutting to show how precise it can be, but again, we never saw the control system, so how precise and how easy it will be are still be shown.

Random partially off-topic question:

Who here actually likes Raiden for Raiden and not just since his ninjafication =P Cos 90% of the people I see online seem to hate him, but I like him. Perhaps cos MGS2 was my first MGS, so I was kind of going along with him, I was a rookie too and I also had this kind of vision of Snake as the ultimate badass like Raiden.

I think it was an interesting way to develop the character of Snake from a 3rd party perspective, seeing the legend side of him, whereas in MGS1 you see the truth behind the legend. In many ways I liked fighting alongside Snake almost as much as being Snake, because it was like fighting with your hero.

I still prefer Snake to Raiden, but I'd say Raiden is probably a very close second (3rd actually, since I prefer Naked Snake to both)

i think most people hated Raiden because he had a Bishounen vibe about him

I think it was that, coupled with OMFG why can't I play as Snake? Which I must admit also confused me. Especially since I selected "this is my first MGS" and thus it cut out the tanker chapter first time round =P

Hmm that's a little annoying, if they're making a series that could mean they plan not to fill up rising with all the stuff in between 2 and 4, instead breaking it up, which just seems like a money grabbing scheme, unless they go post-MGS4 which would ruin the integrity of that story IMO
