Why do they always do this, I mean who really wants a signed postcard?

I suspect it's a resale thing. Signed copies of Metal Gear Solid are naturally going to be something worth selling for a pretty price on ebay. With postcards that are the same for all attendees, if someone was to sell one its value would be significantly lower. I suspect that's why. I certainly know that Ewan McGregor refuses to sign autographs (or did a while ago) due to people selling them onfor insane money on ebay.

People do do that. But so what, if people are crazy enough to pay insane amounts for a signed piece of gaming paraphernalia on ebay that's their choice, isn't it? I auctioned my signed MGS artbook (as well as my signed Shenmue :!: ) for charity last year, so it's not all bad.

Lets just say the Vashdaman needs a PS3 foundation fulfilled it's aim! lol, nah, I mostly donated to the Red Cross but I also gave a bit to a couple other ones I thought seemed OK (although you never really know do you). It didn't do too badly, certainly raised a few hundred or so, everything together, but in hindsight I realise I was not utilising ebay to the fullest and I missed making my items viewable to Americans.

You say so what, but it may be the author/ creator's choice. hence why I gave the Ewan McGregor example :p The signer themselves may feel it's wrong.

Also, from a more practical angle, if they have just one type of object to sign then the pens being used with definitely work :p

So it turns out they will let you get one MGS item signed instead of the postcard. Hmm, now, should I go? If I go, it will be only so I could do the kind of unscrupulous thing Sparrow is warning against and sell whatever I get signed on ebay, unfortunately I only have MGS2 (the most hated game), so you reckon I could get £50 for it?

On the other hand, the thought of queuing in a long line of hundreds of Kojima worshippers, is a less than appealing prospect right now. But who knows, maybe I could tweezer a hair of Kojima that I could use to create my very own Koj clone, that'd be worth it.

So, I actually went to this earlier today. Not the first time I've seen him, but nonetheless meeting God...err I mean Koj once more is no less spiritual. I got a couple things signed (one by Yoj and one by Koj) and I doubt I'll sell them. It was a bit naff queuing up on my Jack Jones (but who the hell could I have brought with me!?), though I did have bit of small talk with the peeps next to me, while trying to ignore the insane(ly nerdy) 14 yr olds behind me. Still it was quite fun, in a weird way. I bought no T's.

Do you know if they going to keep selling the T-shirts, after the event? I want to buy one when i'm in London in two weeks.

You can buy them online right now. If you want to to wait for a couple weeks so you can try it on first, I would imagine they will still be there, but it could possibly be harder to find your size.

The one I like the best is probably the one with MSX Snake parachuting off of it.
