Media Blasters rescue Record of Lodoss War

As well as Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei it appears that Media Blasters have also acquired the rights to Record of Lodoss War TV & OVA series.

No release date has yet been announced but it appears that both series will be released as one set sometime in 2010.

Pfft. I watched it a couple of years ago and it's still brilliant. It's such an incredibly atmospheric show and Nobuteru Yuki's character designs are beautiful. It'd look amazing in HD.

I keep meaning to watch this; it, if memory serves me, having a medieval setting and RPG overtones. I ran out of 'juice' when I went through my OVA/movie download craze, it ending up sat on my HDD for many months.
