The London MCM Expo festival is rolling along and Manga Entertainment has announced that they will release THE WOLF CHILDREN!!! Here are the details of the upcoming releases:

The Wolf Children

Synopsis

<em>In a story that takes place over thirteen years the theme of love between parents and children is explored. It starts when a college student named Hana falls in love with a &ldquo;wolf man&rdquo; named Ō kami. The two marry and have children &ndash; Yuki (snow) the older sister and Ame (rain) the younger brother. The four live quietly in a city concealing the true existence of their relationship until Ō kami dies and Hana decides to move to the country.</em>

The writer, director and original creator is Mamoru Hosoda who has had hits with The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and Summer Wars. Aiding him with scripting duties is Satoko Okudera whose career has involved a lot of stunning films like Summer Wars, Miyori&rsquo;s Forest, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, and The Princess and the Pilot. More talent is present in the form of the legendary character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. The 56th BFI London Film Festival screened The Wolf Children and I can confirm it is brilliant. For those wanting a bit of the brilliance at home, the film will be released on both DVD and Blu-ray and a theatrical release is also being considered.

Blood-C

&nbsp;
The TV anime that irritated many with its moe cuteness before tearing its face off and revealed a horrific visage for the final episode will be getting a release. The anime cast includes Nana Mizuki (Hinata in Naruto) who took the lead role of Saya Kisaragi. Production staff include Tsutomu Mizushima (XXXHOLiC, Hare+Guu) who will take on directing duties and Jun&rsquo;Ichi Fujisaku , director of the other Blood: The Last Vampire spin-off, Blood+, is creative supervisor. CLAMP&rsquo;s Nanase Ohkawa is supervising scripts and co-writing with Fujisaku whilst Naoki Sato (Eureka Seven, X) is composing the music.

Blood-C: The Last Dark&nbsp;

Synopsis

<em>Fumito Nanahara is an influential politician who rules Tokyo with an iron fist. He has introduced the Youth Ordinance Bill which enforces curfews for the young and regulates the internet. Despite this a group of young people have formed a group named SIRRUT and pan on attacking Fumito. In the course of their research they discover &ldquo;Tower&rdquo;, a secret organisation that is backing Fumito and conducts human experimentation. When Sirrut attempt to expose &ldquo;Tower&rdquo; in the Tokyo subway mysterious creatures appear. So too does Saya, a young girl who survived the horrific incident in Ukishima Province with a sword that can defeat the Old Ones.</em>

Blood-C: The Last Dark saw CLAMP and Production I.G. join forces with CLAMP handling the story and character designs and Production I.G. staff animating and directing. The cast return with Nana Mizuki (Fate Testarossa in Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha) reprising the role of Saya Kisaragi, Jun Fukuyama (Lelouch n Code Geass) voicing the mysterious Dog, and Masumi Asano (Hakufu in Ikkitousen) voicing Yūka Amino, Saya&rsquo;s classmate.

Staff from the TV series also return with Jun&rsquo;ichi Fujisaku and CLAMP&rsquo;s Nanase Ohkawa fulfilling writing duties however series director Tsutomu Mizushima (Another) is replaced by animator Naoyoshi Shiotani (Tokyo Marble Chocolate) as director.

Other titles expected to be released next year include <strong>Jormungand</strong>, <strong>Guilty Crown</strong> in April, <strong>Cat Planet Cuties</strong>, <strong>Aria</strong> and <strong>Hellsing Ultimate</strong> parts 1 to 8 which Manga entertainment will release in sets sometime 'hopefully' in May. Manga Entertainment are &ldquo;still negotiating with Kadakowa over the series <strong>Steins;Gate</strong>, and that it 'might' be ready by May or June 2013&rdquo;.

An awesome line-up indeed!

Re: MCM Manga Entertainment Announcements: WOLF CHILDREN Rel

I take it they've dropped the "Ame and Yuki" part from the offical English title for Wolf Children in that case?

Not a big deal, just curious...

Re: MCM Manga Entertainment Announcements: WOLF CHILDREN Rel

I've edited this. I've reported before they did on our twitter! =P

Re: MCM Manga Entertainment Announcements: WOLF CHILDREN Rel

Ame and Yuki was only used as a "sub-title" in the screening at SLA, even though it's part of the original title.

Re: MCM Manga Entertainment Announcements: WOLF CHILDREN Rel

After being impressed with The Last Dark at SLA I was all for importing the film and series when they get released but I'm probably going to wait on the release here now after this announcement. On the opposite side of the coin I'm flipping my position on Steins;Gate, initially I was waiting for the release here but I honestly don't like the sound of all these "negotiating" and "might"s, it'll probably get delayed and delayed so I'm just going to import at the end of the year.

I wish they, or someone, would indeed get Bunny Drop as I just don't know if there'll be any of them left by the time I get to buying it at the end of the year :( , I also echo Andrew from Kaze's distant hope that Nodame Cantibale would get released.

It's strange that Blood+ has never got licensed here, I'm assuming it's because it's Warner that hold the license to it Stateside rather than an actual anime company that has made it impossible to get here. In my early days of anime I actually bought Blood+ (and a couple other shows) off eBay only to discover when I watched them that they were essentially HK copies (seller was UK based so I thought nothing of it when buying). I've since went on to properly re-purchase some of those shows and do plan on re-buying Blood+ too.

Re: MCM Manga Entertainment Announcements: WOLF CHILDREN Rel

Manga tried and failed to get Blood+
It was Sony released it stateside and they've made obtaining the dub impossible.
