Hmm, well BECK is getting released too slowly for a manga that has, what, 28(?) volumes in total. I worry that with the quarterly releases I will have forgotten about manga by the time it finishes.
And Yotsuba&! was put on hold by ADV, right? I like the look of that series. Glad they've finally hinted it's coming back.

Well, I somehow managed to waste around 10 quid on a quick-to-die series.
By the Sword was a manga made by the creators of FAKE. Now, the thing is that I bought it, thinking it'd be an ok story, which it was...
Until they went bankrupt (or so I heard) and they only brought out 2 volumes... Only one thing to say to that... CRASH AND BURN, SUCKA!

Well we don't know. AzuDaioh sold well, and I suspect Yotsub&! sold well too, considering its even better than AzuDaioh and it can convert all those fans. Volumes of Yotsub&! got released post-freeze, so I guess its just production/time to market stuff. I can't imagine it not selling well.
The whole ARIA manga thing is a biggie. Although ADV have transferred it to Tokyopop so we will likely see it finished.
Personally I wish Viz brought out the original Galaxy Express 999 manga.
I am also hoping that Infinity Studios complete the Popo Can manga - that was a riot.
I am also a bit annoyed that Dark Horse dropped 3x3 eyes that seemed like such an interesting series.

Aside from this, when, rhetorically speaking, on God's green earth is someone going to get around to releasing the Elfen Lied manga in English? This has been driving me nuts for almost a year. Goddamit! Gah!!

I also wish that I could get some Five Star Stories manga, but that whole exercise in releasing it here was a massive failure.
I also wish that ADV manga would finish Gunslinger Girl too. It was startign to get really interesting after they had gone past the anime story.

My only bugbear was the Korean series I.N.V.U - I thoroughly enjoyed reading the first three volumes, only to find out the series was never completed, but by that point I was already hooked.
I know Tokyopop designed a cover for the 4th book but we will never know how it will end. Secretly, I wanted Hali to take on the world...

My annoyance lies in the fact that it is not simply Naruto that is miles ahead in French releases (it being the most extreme example I saw), but that many, many other titles are ahead too eg. Priest, Blade of the Immortal. I was in a manga store in Lyon in July and it was an eye-opener I can tell you. The Anglophone market is far larger than the Francophone (I'm talking absolute numbers here) and yet they are way ahead in licencing terms. Fair dues to them, but I'm still enormously frustrated.
Empire of Midnight: The unfinished sequel to the Demon Ororon. If Hakase Mizuki ever finishes it then maybe it'll see the light of day in the West through Tokyopop - but I don't hold out much hope.
20th Century Boys: This is by the guy who did Monster right? I've heard good things but I've yet to see any sign of it.
Pluto: Based on "The World's Strongest Robot" storyline from Astro Boy. Again, I've heard good things and find the whole robot power struggle in Astro Boy interesting so I'd like to see it released.

I.N.V.U - I loved the series, well what i got of it & what’s worse is TP UK where having a special offer of it in N.Ireland just a few weeks ago with the first couple of volumes! That’s cheeky!
Gate Keepers - I also enjoyed what i read of it, but TP cancelled the release after volume 2.

Thats because France has a huge indigenous comic market of which manga represents about a third of it. The biggest comic convention outside of japan is in France. They are a bigger market so they get everything sooner (and cheaper too).
Also the english releases for Blade of the Immortal are only trailing the japanese releases by about 18 months. If the French are ahead, then they must be riding the coat-tails of Afternoon.

The French market is also very established - their appreciation is well spread through the medium meaning that they can support an eclectic range of titles. Its pretty ugly as far as the Super Manga Blast titles go. I am a real big fan of Cannon God Exaxxion too and many of those titles are in doubt now that the anthology has collapsed.
