Manga UK have let us know that they are taking the unique visual aesthetic of anime straight to the streets of Britain by bringing together some of the UK's top graffiti talent to produce a series of anime inspired graffiti murals.

In association with the Old Truman Brewery and Sunday Market in London's East End on Brick Lane, their first "wall painting" features several characters from cult classic action anime Ninja Scroll, and we are told that many tourists have already been seen posing and snapping pictures of the mural.

You can see the four pictures by clicking the following links: [<a href="http://forums.animeuknews.net/album_page.php?pic_id=165">1</a>] [<a href="http://forums.animeuknews.net/album_page.php?pic_id=166">2</a>] [<a href="http://forums.animeuknews.net/album_page.php?pic_id=167">3</a>] [<a href="http://forums.animeuknews.net/album_page.php?pic_id=168">4</a>].

That looks ace and something Manga should do again. But why does everything always have to be in London- people in the North are civilised, we do understand culture!

Looks cool and a nice idea.

I'm told the next anime up for graffiti treatment is Legend of the Overfiend... Only kidding! ;)

Very nice way to advertise anime very nice indeed but yeah like mikeormy said we in the north are civilised an understand culture so why arn't the towns an citys up here covered in anime graffiti

I normally hate graffiti (it looks unsightly and is utterly pointless) but that's really stylish. The Ninja Scroll artwork lends itself well to the style of mural somehow...very cool indeed.

To be honest, it isn't about the series, it's just a cool idea, those pictures only showed something that looked like an underground car park though, i hope they're going to do some massive building so everyone can see

thanks for everybodies interest. we painted this in a carpark in east london because it was near my house and lots of people see it. we chose nija scroll as our first film (not series) to paint because the characters are great and the film reminds us of our childhood. we are starting with the histroy and working our way through the manga catalogue. hopefull you will see more very soon. maybe even some up north. when its warmer. cheers

I think it looks great -- almost makes me want to dig Ninja Scroll out of the DVD pile for a timely rewatch. I wonder which film/series will get the 'graffiti' treatment next? I certainly wouldn't mind seeing a New Dominion Tank Police mural. *hint, hint* ;)

Ghost in the Shell would be an obvious choice, and then we have Akira and End of Evangelion too. I'd love to see some mad Eva-influenced art myself.

i think they picked Ninja Scroll because its probably Manga's biggest seller
I would be very surprised if it outsold Ghost in the Shell (in its various forms) to be honest. The answer was given below by probs as being one of Manga's earliest titles and they are apparently working towards the more modern stuff...
