Manga to release Dance In The Vampire Bund

I wonder how much of that will be censored? Was there really any point in licensing it considering what happened with the 2nd season of Code Geass (even if it was just like 1 second!)

I bet it will be a 18 rated series

If anything will have to be removed (and I'm not sure whether Vampire Bund even has anything that objectionable), it'll be a pointless endeavour when anyone can buy the uncensored, and presumably more explicit in terms of nudity and whatnot, manga off Amazon or TBD. But then the BBFC never did let logic interfere with their decisions.

Good heavens! How will this be released in such a way as to recognise fans' intolerance for censorship without falling foul of powers that be? Many of those who wish to see Bund would presumably show reluctance towards supporting an edited release.

Never mind that the anime is a load of crap in comparison to the manga.

Seriously, this **** just pisses me off. Manga's got better things to do than piss money down a drain because they think they'll get money from the Twilight twits.

There isn't much of a Venn Diagram between Twilight Fans and Otaku.

Lol, so the same people who watch sparkly sparkly Edward, are going to want to see loli?
No, that's my point. The only reason Funimation (and I can only imagine Manga) got the thing was to jump on the Twilight bandwagon but it won't get anywhere.

Considering FUNimation were going to edit this series until there was an outrcy from the fans, and FUNimation claim to only make edits when necessary...BBFC will hit this one for sure.

Depends what mood the BBFC are in on that day. They let Rin through uncut, with the immortal loli that has to get frisky with psycho lesbian informant.

They may ignore Bund. But if they're on their period that day, Bund is screwed.

That was after seeing the second episode but before realising that was as bad as it got in terms of loli-service for the rest of the series.

iirc, the statement they made regarding the decision to release it uncut mentioned that they looked back at the episodes that had currently aired then, and then decided.

So without the shitstorm, it would have just been edited.

Based on what animechronicleuk.blogspot are saying Manga plan on releasing this Fully Uncut with a BBFC rating of '18'.

I'm guessing manga already knew what they were getting into and must of checked with the BBFC before making any deals to license the series to see If any edits were necessary (Unlike when Funimation first licensed it). As for me, as long as it isn't edited i will pre-order this the instant it becomes available on Blu-Ray.

It hasn't been through the BBFC nor are they confident of it getting an 18 rating.
They were quite worried when several people responded on Twitter asking whether it would get past the BBFC.

Then I'm hoping they release It Uncut because I dont think anyone will want to buy It If It Isnt. I for one will not be buying anything that has been edited, I thought the days of edited anime were behind the industry so Its really dissapointing to see an anime adaption of my favorite manga getting butchered by censors.

The only thing I'm worried about is Nanami's feelings for Yuzuru (As Yuzuru is 13; and looks younger). The scene early on with Akira rubbing lotion over Mina could be seen as dodgy, but I've seen worse in 18s...but Nanami-Yuzuru coud mean the BBFC refuse to give it a rating.

Censorship is a silly thing, it's counterproductive to economic success in my opinion.

On the subject of this series, I was going to watch it but forgot about it, thanks guys for reminding me that it exists.

That is the only scene that will be touch and go in terms of censorship. The rest is just good old fashioned nudity and violence ^_^

Yeah, that scene was edited in FUNi's streaming too. but the whole Nanami-Yuzuru storyline could bring the series into question; we all know BBFC hate things that are actually illegal; I doubt they'd be happy with a 13-year old being the subject of a teenager's lust.
