I was already planning to watch the original series during the summer break (never seen it before). I wonder if I'll like the 90s version so much that I also want to dig into this reboot.

No. This one; classic 80s and fantastic.

The series started airing in 1994 (and finished in 1997) so 90s rather than 80s, but yes it's a great intro and I really loved the show when I watched it all late last year/early this year

I'm referring how the theme is very reminiscent of 80s songs in how it sounds. Plus, it's one of the catchiest theme songs I've heard in anime. Naturally, I had to get the soundtrack of it.

the one I posted was the (deliberately badly performed) alternate intro of the Sega Saturn game that you could unlock. The regular intro of the game was a lot better. Working Designs had a lot of fun with this game. But the original Japanese version is amazing and the one I would always listen to.leticabrown
