Story:

Otonokizaka High School is in danger of closing down because of a lack of new students. A group of nine high school girls decide to become idols and increase the numbers of students by promoting the school.

This is a joint media project between Sunrise studio, the recording company Lantis, and Dengeki G’s magazine, and it allows fans to vote on the future artistic direction of this fictional idol group via polls.

Well that was pretty pointless, but I guess that was the idea anyway as it's nothing but eye candy for sisterless pre-pub males, and no-hope-of-ever-having-a-gf older males. It will probably get a dub and licensed here by next Christmas.

It's also eye candy for married older women who are confident about their sexuality, if we want to insist upon belittling fans.

Going to assume it will never be picked up as idol-related stuff usually seems to bomb in the west, though I'd probably buy it if someone insane like Sentai took a chance on it. It would be sort of cool if it gets a simulcast so lazy overseas people can also join in with the voting aspect for the anime version.

Bit worried at the thought that I would get my sister to dress up for me instead of watching this tbh.

Should have some media saturation, this, with the companies behind it!

 Whatever puts lift under your wings M'lady. I doubt those who would fit in the kind of catagory I have pointed out as the target for this delightful recent addition of otaku fodder, will be that bothered to really care, such will be the depth of their immersion.
