If they were going to go down the really crappy animated interviewer route with
Anime Nation, then it was doomed from the start. ( Which is a pitty as if it was given the proper prespect it has/had the potential to do a lot of good for the UK anime scene even though it's on an 'obscure' channel. ) :?
Mezzo DSA and Excel Saga were both underwhelming and confusing choices
Mezzo was probably just a stop-gap space filler although you've got me on
Excel Saga, as I said when they first started to air it, it's a little too bizzare to be run by itself without another anime to back it up for those that don't understand it.
I happen to love both
Mezzo DSA and
Excell Saga even though I can see why others wouldn't, but then I also love
Git:SAC and
Planetes - series that couldn't get farther from them if they tried. Thanks to suffering from depression, I can't watch anything that's depressing or too emotional as they really hit me hard, but other than that as i've said in the past, i'm quite fortunate in that I can usually get some form of enjoyment from pretty much any type of anime out there, there are always exceptions of course - take
Gilgamesh for example, I have no idea if the story is any good as I find the artwork atrocious and I can't stand watching it.
Most people won't pay attention to it, it requires thought to stay with this series.
That's true, unfortunatly the impression that I get is that most of todays viewing public dosn't want to watch anything that requires more than 2 brain cells to work out. However give them what they want and they moan that it's too simple, basically Rapture arn't going to win - whatever they show, people are going to bitch about it.
I actually think Chrono Crusade might do pretty well on a TV showing.
Ooooh, don't even get me started on that one again. This is the anime that nearly killed me and made people finally realise that I really
was suffering from depression. :? ( Which i'm only just getting to see a shrink for. )
