looks like rapture tv have cancelled anime-nation

I couldnt agree more, it was so badly designed and maintained that it was more or less a waste of internet space tbh.

That clip just makes me think "Say, that might have looked good in the late 80's but now it just looks tacky and cringeworthy as hell."

If that's the best they could do then i'm glad they canned the idea.

The majority of anime fans are teenagers, the rest are older. We don't mind having a real person interview celebs.

Fixed your little error there. :D

BBC4 is for adults who haven't quite given up the idiot box. Radio 4 is for real adults.

Anime Nation is still something we'd like to do in future, but due to the studio move and various other issues it's unlikely to be anytime in the near future.

So for now we've removed the forum and website but can easily put them back online when the time is right.

I never thought much of rapture after they got mezzo and excell saga
the channel is going down hill after fma and wolfs rain imo

Excel Saga is excellent. The dub is not. The problem with it is you either love it or you don't, you have to have a taste for the absurd. That and the dub is one of the worst out there.

When I first saw it dubbed on Sci-Fi I hated it. You can imagine my suprise when I saw the subbed version on DVD, it's one of my favourite comedy shows now.

I think their choices since FMA and Wolf's Rain show a clear lack of knowledge when it comes to anime. Mezzo DSA and Excel Saga were both underwhelming and confusing choices, as though they've signed some kind of exclusivity deal with ADV. If that is the case why not go for something like Last Exile or even try with Evangelion again? Something that looks eye catching, exciting and different. I can't imagine many casual channel surfers being hooked by Excel Saga, which for me makes it a totally wasted opportunity.

I actually think Chrono Crusade might do pretty well on a TV showing. It has similar traits to FMA in some respects. Either that, Last Exile or Noir would be my next choice for a UK ADV show.

As long as the rumors from the last time about Elfin Lied stay just that, rumors, I think we'll be fine with jus' about anything from ADV/Manman ent's lineup.

Seriously, there's taking a chance and then there's runing into a brick wall, realy. Rapture will do no one (except the Sunday Mail) any favours.

Sadly, I do realise this sorta dwindles my chances of ever seeing Fist of the north star but...
