The extra cost on MRM is for the modifications to the player that makes it region free, so the standard player is unlikely to be able to be made region free for DVD and blu-ray (it's possible for the DVD side, but not for the BD side without the modification).

But it's a bluray player it should.be able to play both.

It's different for some players as the region lock for the BD side might be hard coded, so the modification would be necessary and that is expensive.

Just brought one now I play the waiting game.

Just got it and, its not as good as my toshiba in looks but it's an extra anyways at least I know where I can get another one if I need one,

So that makes

One region free dvd
And 2 region free blurays
