London's Barbican hosts three anime screenings

London's Barbican Centre have confirmed a new series of anime screenings that intends to explore "the relationship between Japanese animation and Western cinema", hosted by Helen McCarthy, co-author of the biblically proportioned "Anime Encyclopedia". The schedule is as follows, and you can book tickets on the official website.

This looks interesting. I have been meaning to watch perfect blue for a long time so i think i will go see that. Dont think i have seen any anime on the big screen since howls moving castle!
 
It's an odd decision to show Samurai 7, given the series is kinda rubbish. The Perfect Blue evening should be well worth it; though I'm not convinced that Kon was inspired by se7en.

I'm glad to see them not come up - I'm sure plenty of anime fans are sick of seeing those names every time there is a mainstream anime event.
