America doesn't have that much more than us.
They have Adult Swim Saturdays (Bleach, FMA Brotherhood, Inuyasha, Kekkaishi, Cowboy Bebop, GITS: SAC, FLCL) and SyFy's Ani-Monday (Gundam 00 and Gurren Lagann)

There's also the Funimation channel, but I think it's a subscription channel (Like Sky Sports/Movies)

I don't even like Avatar, but that does sound like a pretty cool idea.
