I do wonder how different things would be at Hidive if a different company had acquired them other than AMC. Unfortunately AMC is a continuous decline and is cutting costs or selling off everything they own. Shares of AMC fell 8% Tuesday, putting the stock on pace for its biggest daily percentage decline since Nov. 9, when it fell 13.7%.

As AMC crashes it probably won't be too long until they sell Sentai & Hidive off. I hope Sony isn't the one to purchase them so we don't end up with a total monopoly who is the only corporation to pick and choose what to license.

I think Hidive suffers from not having a PS5 (or even Switch) app.

I'm only really interested in watching anime on my TV (and not buying any extra equipment to do so), so I've never bothered with Hidive.

There have been a few shows on there I've been interested in but it's not like there's any shortage of anime on Crunchyroll and Netflix, so I've just never really felt tempted to watch Hidive on my laptop.

Not sure why you'd conclude that no one uses ITV X. Like the article says they only just got removed. Only natural that people would find out now.

Because no one saw the shows vanish on the platform and report here. I only made a second hand observation, probably days after the fact.

EDIT: and there were no Tweets or whatever from AL leading up to the removal, imploring fans to get their shows in over the XMas period before they vanished from the platform...

Now having said that, they'll probably be back up tomorrow, with the license renegotiated or something.

I watched quite a few of the anime series they had on there and was 13 episodes into Nadia when they took it down.

Now having said that, they'll probably be back up tomorrow, with the license renegotiated or something.

Someone asked about the missing shows on twitter and got this response. It doesn't sound like they will back anytime soon unfortunately.

"Hi there, unfortunately due to licensing expiring the show is no longer available on the ITVX app and website, I will however pass this a long as a content request and hopefully it can bee added to the line up again in the future."

I hate such short licensing agreements.

A real shame to see that both seasons of Amanchu! have been removed, I hadn't seen S2 yet and now there isn't any legal way to watch it.

Though I feel it is unlikely at this point, really wish AL had licensed and released S2 on BD.

Just did a spit-take when I saw 15 episodes of Minky Momo have been added to Crunchyroll. It's listed in their simulcast page for some reason. Is it being rebroadcast or something?

Crunchyroll got the rights for it, possible through that Funimation x Gonzo deal some time ago (wonder how Gonzo got the rights for that show...). Crunchyroll plans to add more episodes in monthly batches.

@crashb648 Just noticed on the spreadsheet you've listed Robotech Seasons 2 and 3 as adapting Macross 7 and Macross F. They actually adapt Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross and Genesis Climber Mospeada. Understandable confusion though since Robotech is more often associated with Macross than the latter two. Funny enough it wouldn't be until 10 years later that Macross 7 was created and a further 13 years until Macross F.
