Madhouse Studios (Redline, Summer Wars) have revealed information on their adaptation of a popular light novel by the name, Recollection of a Certain Professional Airship, published in 2008.

The story takes place in a world divided between two powers at war and focuses on issues such as empathy and love between people of different social status.
The production staff features veterans who have worked on series such as Appleseed, Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo, Sakura Wars.<strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal"> </strong>The anime is utilises CG for high quality flight scenes and the film is expected to go on general exhibition in the second half of 2011.

******* yesssssss. I had been meaning to read this for a while, it sounds excellent and I've read nothing but recommendations for the book (it's not technically a LN imo, but there is a continuation of the series in LN format and it does generally get put in that bracket), but who knows when I'll get around to that. Madhouse making a film of it can't be a bad alternative!
 
Last Exile crossed with Romeo and Juliet. Madhouse works usually sound more enticing than this. Eh. And for a movie, the visuals sure look disappointing. I was expecting something innovative, exciting even, but the whole concept design looks bland.
