The Boss
ANN has confirmed that the August issue of Yen Plus magazine has begun the English serialization of Yana Toboso's Kuroshitsuji manga series under the name Black Butler this week. The title character is Sebastian Michaelis, an impeccable butler who can carry out practically any task his master requires of him — partly because he is a demon. His current master is Ciel, the Phantomhive family head who is smart, business-savvy, and all of 12 years old. The publisher Yen Press had hinted in a Wednesday blog entry that a new title will adorn the Japanese side of the magazine issue's double-sided cover.

The action situational comedy story has been running in Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine since 2006, and seven volumes have been compiled and published. Director Toshiya Shinohara and Aniplex's A-1 Pictures Inc. adapted the manga into a television anime series that ran in Japan from October of 2008 to March of 2009.

I wish we had Yen Plus in the UK. ;_;

-Makes a note to nag nearby comic book place to add Yen Plus to their list of US imported magazines/comics-

But anyway, I wonder when it'll be released in a full volume? I'll have to keep checking.

@Lupus: The anime's alright but eventually it ends up straying really far from the manga and generally being not so good. But I'd recommend the manga for sure!

'Watched the first couple of episodes of the anime, but I didn't think that much of it really. It all looked very nice (obviously had some money spent on it), but the story didn't really grab me and neither of the main characters seemed all that interesting. The comic-relief side characters weren't too badly done and I did like the SD-style ending sequence, but I couldn't shake the feeling that it was all just pandering to the yaoi-douijinshi crowd.

Yay! I'm very excited, oh wait, we don't have Yen Plus in the UK... :(

I love both the manga and the anime that I think is coming back for a second series?

I wonder how long it'll take before it's in a volume...
