Kill la Kill: Part 1 Collector's Edition - Release Details

Re: Kill la Kill part 1 release details

Oh! Some bits of Anime licensing trivia are making sense to me now. I'm slow so it's takes me a while to hold the information in and process it ;) I see where you're coming from Andrew..I think..so basically with these collectors edition sets you're getting the title over in the UK much more quickly, if you wanted to just release the bare bones release on BD/DVD or even two part collectors editions (ala Bebop..if Japan would even allow a release over two sets at the end of 2015 that is), you'd have to wait till the dub was complete first which in turn would mean losing sales. Instead you're making the most out of your model and license by providing a sexy little release for us.

I like it.

I've had the set on pre order on Amazon since it went up so I'm cool with what you're doing either way (& you may even have best girl Mako on the front of the second set if other editions are anything to go by...hint hint) ..though I am looking at your shop to see what little special thing is unveiled regarding a pre order there ;)

Re: Kill la Kill part 1 release details

Hmmm what would be a good incentive to pre order from the Anime Limited store? I've currently got it pre ordered from Amazon (for £39.91) but i'd completely be willing to cancel and order from AL for £5 more if it came with a poster (like the convention ones you had earlier this year) or if the store version was released 2 or 3 weeks before other retailers!! ;)

Re: Kill la Kill part 1 release details

If they had a small number of the special CDs I'd be all over that AL store preorder in a flash *raises expectations irresponsibly*.

They could always sell the CDs separately (like AoT) and give you a discount if you order at the same time as any of the box sets :)

Re: Kill la Kill part 1 release details

Cheers Andrew! I completely get why you guys are doing that seeing as I hate the wait for some animes so the speed you guys are booting these out the door is very impressive and because of the turnaround time you're providing, that's where the cost comes from etc.

I'd happily pay what part 1 is selling for or even higher for the series as a whole, it's just when you think all parts may potentially retail that cost, well then hell, thats a lot of mullah (money hehe) for just 1 series, specially when you have so many direct debits like me :p

I guess it also depends how excited about an anime you are, for example, I may very well pull the same for Black Butler Book of Circus if that came our rapido once dubbed since I'm a huge fan of the franchise so then I would be no different to those getting this :)

Re: Kill la Kill: Part 1 Collector's Edition - Release Detai

I remember Andrew saying at one point that they can't get the license to the Kill la Kill soundtrack? Which to be honest, is a real shame.

I have no idea why Manga UK decided to release Psycho Pass as a complete series. Do they not understand that the UK is home to the most tightfis... er, thrifty people on the planet? Personally I would've given the first half of Psycho Pass a try*, but I'm not laying down £40 for the whole thing when Urobochi has been so hit and miss for me.

*or rather I would have before I found out that Manga UK authored the discs themselves for some reason, which invariably means poor subtitling.

Bit disappointed in the Kill la Kill set. The booklet full of black and white line art and storyboards ain't terribly exciting, so I'll be waiting on a regular edition.

The Psycho Pass complete blu ray collection, with soundtrack, was $150 in Australia stores. That's too much even with the exchange rate so it could be much worse.

I think £40 for 26 episodes is a great price. But if you're not sure about the series, it's double the gamble that £20 for 13 episodes would've been.
