Kawajiri's Highlander anime movie trailer

A Highlander website has recently posted a short teaser trailer for Yoshiaki Kawajiri's (famous director of Ninja Scroll, X TV and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust) feature-length Highlander anime "spin off" movie.

The movie is being animated by Madhouse Studios and according to Anime News Network, is set for release in the spring season of 2006.
 
Despite all the signs pointing to this being a bit rubbish, the involvement of Kawajiri and Madhouse instantly makes me want to see this. I know a lot of people dislike a large amount of Kawajiri's work, but I still really enjoy watching the Ninja Scroll movie and I've never been disappointed by anything I've seen from him. He's the Takeshi Miike of anime :)

Besdies, alongside BONES, Madhouse is my favourite anime studio.
 
Not much of a Highlander fan but was impressed with this trailer, it's got the Kawajiri look, sleek, stylised and downright purdy even if McLeod has gone a bit Rambo. One of my best friends is a big Highlander fan so it'll be interesting to hear what he thinks about an anime 'spin off'.
 
I remember that cartoon too, although i wish i didnt :p

Looks interesting alright and reminds me alot of Bloodlust, which is never a bad thing
